When the Raptors paddle-spanked the Lakers in their own arena, delivering their first home defeat of the season minus Lowry and Ibaka, in what ranks as one of the greatest regular season victories in franchise history, in which they held Lebron James to his lowest scoring game of the season, their main focus of the affair was that Anthony Davis had put up 27 points.

It sells an adorable childlike fantasy view of what basketball really is.

Sage Steele cutting off Wyn Butler then shoulder butting him was ESPN at its lowest.

This was supposed to be a statement game that the Raps can hang with the top level teams and not just get wins against .500 or sub .500 teams.

It's hard to "hang" when the refs give the visitors 15 more free throws

It's been a few days and I still can't believe FVV jacked up that insane 3 point shot after that steal so early
in the shot clock. I just hope Fred (and the rest of the team they were very jittery) learn from this and something
like that never happens in the playoffs.

What is wrong with people.

This was not a “statement game”. There were 4 statement games last spring, this one doesn’t register. Wtf is a statement game, anyway? If anything these are statement games for bucks fans. They should mean nothing to us.

It’s like people aren’t satisfied with a title and a following regular season that may be the best we’ve ever seen without any superstar. They need Stephen A Smith to say “raptors” before they can sleep at night.

To paraphrase a once great philosopher, it never ceases to amaze me: we love ourselves more than others, but care more about their opinion than our own.

Really well said! Some people will not be satisfied unless we go 98-0 every season.
