FVV with his first awful shooting night in like 20 games and GTJ is also struggling. Our starting backcourt averages 6.5 3FGM at 39% and they're 1/12 so far on mostly open looks. Meanwhile a bunch of 30% shooters have combined for 10/22 for the Jazz with a half-court bankshot and a couple heavily contested above the break threes lol.

As bad as we played and as ridiculously hot as the Jazz were in Q1, a 13-point deficit doesn't seem hard to overcome at all. Scottie and OG will probably have to carry us in the 2nd half because both FVV and Siakam look a bit disengaged. Hopefully everyone wakes up soon.

I think Scottie can be that guy but it’s going to take a lot for ego Fred to fall in line.

By guy i mean an undoubted bucket getter/lebron cp3 type. Where its cleqr as hell hes better. Scottie is years away and a prayer it happens

If we lose the third there's no coming back in the 4th.

I agree. This is a win.

Yep.

No chance in hell the Jazz keep up that FG% in the second half.

Yeah but I am so sick of this pattern. Feels worse than last game because there's no Middleton and Holiday on this team. Just come out and blow them away why don't we

Scottie is already trying to be that guy. That's why it's so fun watching him. He always makes the right play. But literally every other player on this team is a ball-stopper, so it doesn't matter what Scottie does unless he's in the high post able to pick apart the defense.

Oh it's fools gold for the Raptors naysayers - there's no statistical reality where the Jazz continue to shoot this well while we keep bricking.

I'm so convinced of the second half that I bet on the even money offer for Raps to win which is something I rarely do mid game.

Yup. Our leaders have a ‘got to get mine’ mentally that infects our team play. Fun.

I’m not even mad at Fred it’s whatever. But Trent can go. I just hate how he plays. This team needs a real catch and shoot 3 and d not a wannabe first option checker.

Yeah, I can't see the Raptors actually losing this game. Eventually they will get hot from 3 or start knocking down shots. Nurse will give them an earful and they'll stop playing so selfish... Well .. everyone except Boucher.

We’ve been playing selfish all season. Boucher had been fine recently. Our team and system is selfish and sucks at moving the ball.

The system is not sefish - the players just all have a shoot first mentality.

This team played well when they had players who had a better feel for the game before. The Raptors used to be great at moving the ball and working together. It's just this collection of players do not have the natural instinct to get open shots for their teammates. They're all looking to score, which is fine if everyone else on the team wasn't also looking to do the same thing.

Watch when Barnes plays. He makes a pass to someone expecting them to move it to the next person, but it rarely ever happens. The first player will shoot it.

Having 3 main bench players and none are shooters.

Just dumb

It's a big head-scratcher for sure. You cant watch two undersized centers play in the bench unit and then wonder why they cant match the output of the other bench lol.
"I definitely knew he traveled, but I didn't know they were going to call it. That was one of them situations in which a great player made a move...and they called the call. And I was like, 'Oh, man, there is a God.'

This is not an unsurmountable lead and I think the Raps will settle down in the second half, but I hope they get chewed out at the half. Paschall had one play were he got an and1 and misses the freethrow and then managed to dunk his own miss.

This is a lack of respect and low energy from the Raptor team. The same issue that haunted the team early on in the season. Got to step up the effort big time.
