#21 has to be the worst player I've ever seen in sports history. He had like 10 turnovers in the last 3 minutes

Sharpe was really good leading up to this game, but man he ended it brutally.

College kids in high pressure situations aren't going to handle it too well in most instances

But, I wouldn't even say that was all his fault. He tried to make a play with not much going on and help defender made a great play on the first turnover and that last shot he didn't get off was a great contest, Clayton was right on him when he turned to shoot which surprised him. Obviously with perfect hindsight he feels Clayton is right there on him and it's shot fake and maybe try to draw the foul or side step but when you're in the moment it's not easy like that.

I had Florida & Houston in the final, with Houston winning. We will see Monday night..

Speaking of Alijah Martin. I love his game. He would be an interesting pickup as a non draftee. Develop him as a role.player on the 905 as the next Lou Dort.

I get that the Newell pick is boring and that Fears and Queen are clearly more talented scorers, but I think you have to look at other facets of the game. Queen is a better rebounder but he's also a worse shooter and much worse defensively. The question with Fears is do you project him being significantly better than the glut of guards that we already have?

FO's gonna have their work cut out for them if we stay at 7.

Queen is a far superior shooter than Newell. Queen is a budding shot creator, Newell is just a c&s afterthought in an offense.

I'm speaking specifically from the 3pt line, where Queen is shooting 20% and Newell is shooting 29%. There's no questions that Queen is the superior offensive player

Shooting goes beyond mere percentages my man, you need to factor in how those shots are generated and volume. Also Queen's FT% history a lot better. Queen legit middy shot creator with touch markers to extend to 3 with time, Newell just C&S.

Clayton largely did a great job punishing Sampson for erasing his 3 ball.

Newell with 2.7 three point attempts per game vs Queen's 1 attempt per game. Queen shoots less than 2% better from the ft line. A lot of Queen's 3s were C&S attempts as well. Newell clears Queen in TS%, BPM, and WS/40. I understand why you would want a guy like Queen over Newell, just don't be surprised if our FO values what Newell provides over what Queen provides. An argument can be made for both players is all I'm saying.

I think I'd trade down, grab another first, and draft Traore and Haugh

Quickley/Shead/Traore
Barrett/Walter/Dick
Ingram/Agbaji/Haugh
Barnes/Boucher/Mogbo
Poeltl/Robinson/Chomche

i don’t understand why anyone is advocating for queen when we have iq, rj, bi, scottie and gradey who all want to play with the ball in their hands. it’s a terrible fit. we don’t have any need for a high usage guy unless he’s an elite scorer ie better than most of our starting 5 or a guy that breaks down defences off the dribble and can finish at the rim. we need a play finisher with solid defence, ideally one who can space the floor and rebound.

Newell looks like a better prospect than Queen. He would also make us look much better sooner.

Poeltl
Newell
Ingram
Barnes
IQ

I could see that being the go to line up in the future. It aligns with Masai's dream of the complete (or near complete) 6'9 line up.

After starting the season 3-19, 16% from 3 - in his first 9 games, Newell shot 23-70 for 33% (2.9 attempts) over his last 24 games. Saying Queen is going to be the better 3pt shooter is pure speculation. This may matter to some and not so much to others but Newell’s shot form is actually really aesthetic, it just looks like a shot from that’s going to fall 36+% of the time.

If you think Queen is creating 3s off the dribble in the NBA, you’re going to be disappointed. They will both likely be catch and shoot after leaving college. Newell projects as a plus, switchable defender at the next level, Queens defence? Well the jury’s still out. I think Newell fits this teams needs better personally but different strokes for different folks, I guess.

You may want to read the Barnes thread to understand he is bottom 20th in efficiency. Even it is due to tanking, he would not be league average, so how is he "want to play with the ball"? We should reduce his touches.

Queen is definitely the perfect fit for our offense. You deal with Barnes on his lack of offense and Barrett on his lack of defense afterward.
