Gone for what? Do people think this team had any other options aside from tanking? Best case this season was to be the current Miami/Atlanta.

Nope. But I’m certainly not protective of any of our “assets”. Nobody fears our core four, and none of them are retained at value.

Maybe we wait and see what they can actually do together. This is far from the finished product.

The odds of the draft not being fixed is extremely low statistically. The amount of times a team with less than 2% has won the lottery over the last 30/40 years is 5? now and 6 if you add in a 3%. These things should happen once or twice every 100 years.

We all have to accept the league will decide and we will only win the lottery when the league when they know we will pick Andrea Bargnani.

my take is that he doesnt like tanking and regrets not trying to beat all those scrub teams the 2nd half of the year and go for the play in.

Same. A few guys looked interesting at the start of the season, but as I watched more footage, nobody projected early really looked impressive other than Flagg.

I am sorry those 3 franchises are the last teams that deserve top picks.

Had a generational player but poor them can't have too many

This truly angers me, Why do these franchises keep getting rewarded with Top picks. They get a generational player 2 years ago, another top 4 pick last year and now a Top 2 pick.

I will never ask the raptors to tank again. We should just inform the league that we will trade Barnes to the lakers for trash that seems like the route to take.

You know we were games ahead of Philadelphia at the deadline right? The same Philadelphia team that just moved up to grab the third pick. We also dropped 2 spots last lottery as well. It just goes to show you that you either go all in for the tank or you try to compete and pray for luck like Atlanta and Dallas if you fall short. But no more half measures.

Philly had a whole bunch of injuries in the 2nd half, pretty much their entire starting 5 and their potential rookie of the year were all injured... Regardless your post was about the Jazz and wizards who have the league's worst teams on paper and tried mercilessly to tank, and still fell out of the top 4... Just goes to show that having a crappy team while trying to tank doesn't guarantee you anything come draft time.

Well there are no guarantees but they still have a higher pick than us. I don’t think they’re losing much sleep over this.

They do have slightly higher picks then us, but they also have way worse teams that aren't sniffing the playoffs anytime soon, and the calibre of prospects they were hoping for at 1-2 has gotten a bit worse at 5-6, so I can't imagine the jazz and wizards are all that jazzed about the drop.

gotta see what moves we make this summer but as currently constructed...only a pf or c would see mins as a rookie next season.

It looks like a good position to be in to draft a PF or a SF/PF like Carter Bryant.

edit: sf/pf with him meaning he could play with a guy like Ingram sliding to PF or vis versa.

Just a terrible take... Good luck finding a better replacement.

That's the same faulty logic I used to hear when Executive of the Year Bryan Colangelo was running the team too.

Can't have too many lousy teams in the East either. Dynasty in OKC? We talking about OKC? Nah.

The league sending Giannis to the Spurs to prevent an OKC dynasty seems about right

We either draft Maluach or someone that falls in the draft.

The last 2 years we drafted someone that fell.

Bucks likely will be enticed by Harper as a centre piece for giannis. Which allows the Spurs to retain assets to build around Wemby and Giannis. The new twin towers is back.

Esp with this whole Canada vs US thing and if these conspiracy theories are true you can only imagine them saying *** outta here to the raptors for thinking they'd be in the top 4 lol I ain't even mad we won the ship and were one of the best modern day history champs ever.

That is true. And it’s also no different than seeing what something else totally new could do.

So the last thing I’m worried about is “blowing it up”. It’s already a mess.
