I report that most teams in the league have contacted the Raptors.

Really, how is that news worthy of being on the score ticker...?

If that's where Bosh wants to go, our choice is to take the best we can get for cleveland or let Bosh walk. I think Cleveland is putting the feelers out, to see what it would take from us. then the approach LeBron with the plan. Then hope LBJ can get Bosh to agree to a S&T.

LAWLZ. They have zero chance.

In order to get Bosh, they're gonna have to match the salaries, and their so-called assets are not worth taking on 14~15m worth of salaries.

Ya that's exactly what they're doing.

All they're doing is scratching out their Sales Pitch to Lebron and making sure they can pull of a trade for Bosh.

BC will soon be contacted by many, many other teams.

OK, so who are all these teams that:

A) Bosh is willing to play for
B) are willing to send back great assets

You're not getting a better offer from NY, Chicago or Miami. The only other comparable package I've seen thus far is Bynum, and it's not like he doesn't come attached with significant risk. In that scenario, we'd still be stuck with Hedo and Jose.

Comparable to what? Varejao's long term contract + Mo's long term contract + maybe Hickson?

Turk would actually be a pretty good fit on that team, but Lebron would have to be playing SG or PF for them to be on the floor together. I'd do Turk for Jamison and run, and play Jamison as a 3, kinda like Harrington.

What leverage do the Cavs have at all over you guys? They have close to no young talent at all excluding ok talent in Hickson and Green, certainly not enough to deal a franchise player for, horrible contracts on the book, their star is a free agent and if they get Bosh, how do they have the money for both of them?, and they cannot sign Bosh outright. LOL.

Possibly a stupid question, but does the CBA allow for the Cavs to create an instant expiring, ala Dampier's contract? Say S/T Shaq for Bosh, with Shaq signed to a 20 mil deal with only 1 mil guaranteed?

I don't mind dealing with the Cavs. At least these guys are healthy (unlike Bynum).

Here is what I would want:

Bosh
Jose

for

Hickson
Varejao
Jamison
Mo Williams
Future 1st

Any deal HAS to include Varejao. We would make the playoffs next year & we'd have a nice expiring contract in a few years. Our big situation would be set (or we have more assets to trade). Our PG situation would be improved & we draft either Paul George or Xavier Henry.

Our defense also improves.

Sadly though, I think Bosh would rather go to NYC & play with scraps (where he'd get lots of attention) than play for a championship with Lebron in Cleveland.

they can contact all they want there is no deal that can be done to help this team by sending them Bosh unless they somehow make it 3 or 4 teams and we get like 5 first round picks from the teams involved

Unless they can give expirings for Jose and Hedo, plus some picks, I will pass on a trade to the Cavs.
Spragga - The greatest trick the Raptors ever pulled was convincing the world that Defense doesn't exist.

In shamsports, Delonte West's contract is only $500K guaranteed for next season. If the Raptors are in cost cutting mode, his contract could make a nice filler option.

Also, how does one get Bosh to agree to go to Cleveland, or bring Jose or Turk with him? He has better options available, I think.

Ooh - interesting. I'd actually consider Bosh + crap for Shaq + value if he still had one year left and was agreeable to coming.

I think it's not possible for Cleveland to do this - not because it would be for a trade - but it that the guarantee has to be for a certain percentage of the deal, or that it can't be in the first year if it's a team re-signing their own FA. Damp will be in his 5th year, if I'm not mistaken.

I think it's different for minimum salary players signed on one year or 1+1 deals... like 2nd rounders or call-up from NBDL, so a guy like Joey Dorsey could sign a 1 year deal with only a partial guarantee.

Further - Shaq has to actually sign the contract - which could interfere with him being able to go out and get a legitimate one.
