Best line of the thread, when op said.

I WOULD TRADE ANDREA BARGNANI FOR HIM

Let me get this straight ... You would trade our new franchise guy, someone who can be a 20PPG+ scorer for a guy who has never played an NBA game, needs a scorer like Bargs to play with, oh yeah did I mention that he hasn't played an NBA game yet? Rubio would get eaten alive in the NBA with the style he plays.

Anyhow I will agree with one thing though

Rubio without trading Bargnani or die trying.

I'm all out for getting Rubio, but it not worth giving up Bargnani for him, at least Bargnani is proven in the NBA now.

Rubio could be a great asset to our team, and he could definitely resign with us compared to other superstars.

I don't think there's anything you can offer to make Kahn give up on Rubio but if he were willing to trade he'd probably ask for Bargnani + Derozan

They don't have any. Webster is slightly overpayed but it's only 5 mill/year for the next 2 seasons since final year is almost fully unguaranteed.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

let me tell u something..twolves would trade rubio for dd and bargs in a second but that offer would never happen...u know why?cause twolves have 0 leverage on this situation..1 Rubio is a star already in europe 2 he plays in one of the nicest cities in the world 3 no european player that good would leave a team and city like barcelona to play in a city like Minneapolis...he can always remain there his entire carrer and Twolves would get sh.t for him...believe me that when he comes in the nba the only cities he would come are NY,LA,Chicago,Toronto,Boston and maybe 2 3 more and that`s it...if he chooses one of the teams from this city twolves would get a 1st rd pick and maybe another prospect, that`s it..

True.

OK.

Here's where your logic fails. Rubio wants to play in the NBA and would more than likely be already playing there, even if it were in Minneapolis, if it wasn't for his contract issues.
Keep dreaming.

...what?

Rubio's "contract issues" were created entirely by himself. He could have played this season - Minny would have bought him out.

He didn't want to. He signed a new contract with Barca instead. Of course he could just come in 2011, but the fact remains that he was the one who did so.

Really?
I'm too tired to explain for the 99th time all the Rubio story, but basically if he had decided to come to the NBA in 2010 he'd been playing for free for the first 3 years of his contract to pay the Buyout. Minny WAS FORBIDDEN pay anymore than 500k $ outside of the rookie salary scale.

I don't think Ricky Rubio cares where he plays in the NBA. At this point i believe he wants nothing to do with any team in the NBA.It looks like he just doesn't have the confidence to play in the world's greatest league. He's probably glad MIN didn't pony up the cash necessary to buy him out just so he could get a couple extra years playing in Europe to polish his game, I doubt he'd want to come to the NBA to be a backup playing minimal minutes with all the unwarranted hype given to him.

I just watched the highlights of him against Lithuania, and all I'm seeing right now is all those Spanish players he's hooking up on pick and rolls and alley oops replaced by Weems, Amir, and DeRozan getting dunks after dunks.

Rubio is overrated. Most 1st and 2nd string point guards in the NBA could do that stuff in Europe. Only the most casual basketball fan is impressed with those plays; as all were standard pick and roll thoroughfare.
