I think we should wait until October. I don't really want Diaw, and I think a deal centered around Posey for Calderon could be more than feasible. Maybe with Ford and Reggie included. Posey makes almost half of what Diaw makes, which makes it more appealing.

Wow, that's incredibly optimistic. We're definitely not getting an ending contract AND Chandler level talent for Calderon. Getting just an ending deal could be hard enough.

It helps NY ..No one wants Eddy Curry even though hes a big expiring so they get Dunleavy who is a big expring and actually can play and help the team and go after Melo

You have to see the whole trade and what every teams involved in a deal ended up at the end..

I did, and Toronto and NY get by far the best deals. It would be a lot more realistic if Chandler went somewhere else, since, as is, Denver and Indiana definitely want more.

Pacers Pass: You don't think the Pacers MUCH rather get Chandler and Curry to Diaw and his big contract? They would happily waive Curry and pay Chandler significantly less than Diaw. Or maybe even trade him for a better PF than Diaw.

Denver wants more: Gallo and Randolph is believed to be pretty fair value for Carmelo, but you also have them giving up Ty Lawson. So they trade Carmelo for young guys with potential but then trade their favorite young player for the aging Dunleavy when they can have Chandler - who is arguably better already + much younger??

To TOR: Curry + Augustin
To NYK: Diaw

Or something with nyk and cha

Toronto definitely does it. Who knows about Charlotte. I'd be surprised if any NY fans would trade Curry for Diaw. Especially with them hoping for Carmelo.

I agree that NYK might not do this trade. Great for TO. Good for CHA as they get a PG.
I could see Augstin going to NYK here as they are giving up an expiring (mind you a useless one who probably will not play this year) to take on 2 years of Diaw. Also gives them another young asset to parlay into a Melo trade. Toronto is getting out of 3 years of Jose so it might be a bit too good.

So if Fernandez is worth a late first rounder or Chandler...Calderon is worth what?

BC is probably just going to play this year out and let calderon try to build his value, and try to work a trade out for him next year, since next years draft class is going to be filled with point guards, and were probably going to be one of the worst teams in the NBA this year. But right now we need to focus on getting a center to play alongside bargnani.

Portland Trades:
Greg Oden

Toronto Trades:

Miami pick

i dont know if Utah will make this kind of financial move but they have in the part. Brewer, Maynor (Harping trade) for example just to avoid luxury tax. So maybe this could appeal to them and actually happen.

* Has to happen on September 13th or after that date, cant happen before.

To Toronto: AK47

To Utah: Dampier, Najera, Banks, Dorsey, Miami 2011 1st Round Pick

To Charlotte: Calderon

* if Utah would rather, Evans can be subbed in for Banks

CHA cuts Derrick Brown and remains under luxury tax after this move.

Utah waives Dampier saves 9 million instantly puts them at 66 million. Gives them room to re-sign Kyrylo Fesenko to a deal starting at 3 million or so. Also meet the minimum roster needs at 13 and get a pick out of it.

Toronto gets an expiring contract in AK47 but a productive one.

* id follow it up with a Evans for Stevenson deal or Evans for a SG/SF deal

Jack / Barbosa / Brown (signed)
Derozan / Weems / Stevenson
Klezia / Wright
AK47 / Davis / Andersen
Bargnani / Johnson / Alabi

Williams / Price / Banks
Miles / Bell / Gaines
Hayward / Najera
Jefferson / Millsap / Dorsey
Okur / Fesenko

Calderon / Augustin / Collins
Jackson / Livingston / Carroll
Wallace / Henderson / Mcguire
Diaw / Thomas
Mohammad / Diop

AK47 would be great. Utah would probably want more though. They're still pushing to win as many games as possible, and trading AK loses them a few more games. Especially when its basically Najera replacing him. Jefferson basically just replaced Boozer, so its not like they added that much salary.

So you say it will be filled with point guards...then trade away the pick? Hmmm.

I like it for the Raps, but Portland will likely wait for half a season to see if their number one overall pick can still play.

Think Memphis would go for one of these deals?

Jack+Miami pick+(one of Andersen/Dorsey/Alabi) for Thabeet+Henry

or

Barbosa+Miami pick+(one of Andersen/Dorsey/Alabi) for Thabeet+Henry

With Jack, Memphis gets an efficient, quality starting PG on a cheap deal to run their offense. With Barbosa, they get a scoring 1/2 guard whose playing style and per minute production is similar to Monta Ellis, who they were apparently interested in last year. In either case, they get some veteran help, which might fit in better with them as they try to compete for a playoff spot.
For us, we pick up young assets in a rebuilding year. Thabeet is a solid defensive C prospect, and Henry can contribute with his defense and 3pt shooting at the wing, with the potential to start for us down the road.

Then we pick up our future PG in the draft (or through a trade) next summer.

This is a what if trades.
From the Raptors 2 things must happen
(1) Amir will develop into a quality starting PF 33min, 12+PPG, 9RPG, 1.5 BPG 2 APG
(2) Both Weems & DD both develop into quality players both starter material.

Trade (1)
Amir for Gortat
Orlando needs a quality PF to allow Lewis to play SF
Toronto needs a rugged defensive C to allow Bargs to be a PF

Trade (2)
Melo for Jack, Weems or DD, Banks, Evans, Toronto 1st not protected with the trade.
But the team outlined would be superior to anything in NY and would be a contender.
Denver would get some quality in return for Melo Jack ( Billups would likely leave ) Weems & 1st with expirings in Banks and Evans who could have additional value before trade deadline.

Melo would need to sign for extension and agree

Toronto line-up
PG Jose/Barbosa/Brown
SG DD/Barbosa
SF Melo/Klieza/Wright
C Gortat/Anderson/Alabi
PF Bargs/Davis/Dorsey

I'm glad I made your day while unlikely to happen without the 2 conditions and those maybe unrealistic? The deals would be sound and fair for both parties. It seems the NYK would like Melo and what can they offer Curry and Chandler. No real draft choice? Plusa frankly with Gortat DD coming on as player the Raptors would be a far better team than NY.

At least it isn't offering Evans and a TPE for Oden.
Now that is laughable.

this is still what i believe is a good deal.

To Toronto: Diaw + Augustin

To Charlotte: Calderon + Evans + Miami 1st

they waive Damp, get under luxury tax. Likely have to throw in the Miami pick because of Caldys injury and what not but they have physicals that he would need to pass so it shouldnt be too alarming.

Jack / Augustin
Derozan / Barbosa
Klezia / Weems
Diaw / Davis
Bargnani / Johnson

is a pretty decent team

J Calderon + R Evans to Charlotte

PG Tony Parker
SG (a Stopper)

lil bit a fantasy with the first trade, but it wouldnt be a bad package for SAS
