Position Shift In Future For Draymond Green

Draymond Green, a 6-foot-7 power forward while at Michigan State, faces a position shift to small forward in the NBA.

"He's probably going to have to play some three," a Northwest Division executive said. "He's got all the intangibles -- great hands, he's tough, he's physical, has a great feel for the game, has a high basketball IQ. Other than last year, his teams won in high school, his teams won at Michigan State."

Green collected 20.69 percent of all available rebounds during his senior season at MSU, an elite rate.

If he loses his weight, we could even call this guy poor man's LeBron James.

I would be hesitant to look at any player that has or has had any heart issues (i.e. surgery while in college)

Just roll the dice with some Canadians in Joseph and Sacre. Our 2nd round picks never amount to anything.

so why waste them again? why not look at some players that might be able to make an impact in the NBA, rather than 2 players that will most likely be playing most of their careers overseas

Actually, I just looked at nbadraft.net and saw Khris Middleton. I'd take him in the 2nd round in a heartbeat.

i think its kindve crazy how far joseph has fallen. what more dyou want from a prospect? size, length, athleticism, can shoot the ball, can play defence, winning pedigree at a big time school

Its what happens when you become afraid and it impacts your biggest strength. The guy went from an aggressive slasher in half court (that hid his weak handles), to one who tried to finesse his way in with bad handles and took awkward shots to avoid contact (which was a fail usually).

The guy did develop a solid jumper as well, which was the main flaw when he began to be seen as a good propsect towards the end of a sophomore.

As I said in another thread, the guy worked hard, was a good person, and was a good NCAA player, and as an SU fan I am glad he came to Syracuse. But the hit he took at Pittsburgh causing the concussion early in his junior year, forever changed his game and hurt him greatly as an NBA prospect.

he's a nice role player and was a solid 6th man. I don't think he was ever meant to be one of the top options on a team, but was kinda forced into it

From a purely statistical viewpoint he has not really been any better as a senior vs a sophomore. His junior season was better. His rebounds are way down, and Syracuse certainly had many available to get. He became scared simple of that. And when aggressiveness was a major strength, that will hurt your ranking.

Back in April 2010, if you told me Joseph would develop the jumper he ultimately did, I would have said near lotto pick. But his ballhandling weaknesses and rebounding weaknesses are now pretty damn evident to the scouting world, and he now plays afraid vs agressive - so you can't argue that he is all that well rounded at the next level anymore.

I can see him as a later second rounder, but there are many reasons why he has fell as a prospect.

As for being the leading scorer, well that was because Dion Waiters had 8 less minutes a game.

Another 2nd round sleeper could be UC Santa Barbara's Orlando Johnson. He's old (relatively speaking) at 22 years old already, but I could see him opening a few eyes at the pre-draft camps something like Charles Jenkins did last year.

John Jenkins wouldn't be a bad fit if he slips, he could be a Barbosa-type of player (unidimensional bench scorer) though a shooter instead of a go-to-the-rim guy

^PG Josep Franch would be a good pick if he's still available at 37. At the very least, I think he could be a solid, capable backup PG. But, could be more than that, just not sure about him defensively. I think he'll get better as a shooter.
