Love the Blanche Devereaux gif.

I don't think Scary Jones will be a Raptor. He'll use the caliper test as Kleenex.

PJIII is the guy I've wanted for a while. Outside of Davis, he's the guy I hope we get the most. I don't care how many PFs we have on the roster, or how he complements DeMar's game. If he's the best player with the most potential, you take him and adjust your roster accordingly.

this is that article from last year about Perry.Interesting to see that they had him running the point in practice

Remember, this article was written before he stunk it up this year but...
“Take the point, Perry,” Drew said during an intrasquad scrimmage. The scouts looked as if they were going to pop right out of their folding chairs. A near-seven-footer playing point guard? But Jones has the ballhandling skills and court vision to do it, along with the size and explosiveness to play inside and overwhelm most college big men. At certain moments, he looks like a young Magic Johnson, only a little bigger and a lot faster.

:o :o :o

A bigger and faster Magic Johnson at the 8th pick? This draft must be the dream team all over again.

They forgot "minus heart" in the equation.

lol not to be too particular BUT the mix I put up was strictly his sophmore season....this one contains plenty of his freshman season as evidenced by him occasionally wearing the number 5 lol in it.

Calm your tits, dude. I didn't see your post.

Reading comprehension would help in how personal you take things....the multiple "lol"s should of been your first hint that I was only teasing with you not to mention the "not to be too particular". Don't act like such a child.

But anyhow, I just came in this thread to roll out the Fail Carpet for PJ3 to TO.

love his potential, but has high bust potential.
in my opinion has the tools to be the best player in the draft.... but likely will turn into a yi janlian (spelling?) kind of player

I've been saying "Do not want" for PJIII for 2 years and I still feel that way. But it is likely that he will be the BPA at the Raptors pick. I think there is a very small chance of PJIII realizing his full potential because of his mental makeup and he will be frustrating to watch struggle. But I think Casey and James Johnson will provide a good environment to get the most out of PJIII's career. And 75% of what PJIII could be is still a pretty good player and probably the BPA of what is left at 7-8. I could see GS going PJIII at 7 and being left with Lamb. I guess it could be worse.

Drafting PJIII also means more playing time for James Johnson who has a good chance at being better than PJIII ever will be. PJIII's ceiling is obviously much higher. He just has a low probability of ever reaching it.

Perry Jones is another raw talent kid that has a huge up side based off his athleticism alone. He had huge hype coming from HS. His stock fell off from a top 3 pick to where he sit now and he could fall even more or go as high as 6-7. The problem with him is he's not a SF he's a PF and we have enough bigs on our roster now. So we would have to trade a big to draft him or flip him to someone else.

Excuse my ignorance guys, but any chance this guy can transition successfully from PF to SF? I have seen him play in bits, but I feel the guy is more of a tweener and a 4. Maybe I am wrong.

He's another project player like Derozan if the team decides to draft him I would assume they plan to re-enter the lottery.

Looks like he isn't anymore of a 3 than Derrick Williams is.

Well, if we don't move up in the draft I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him. If he's the most talented player when we are picking, I trust that Casey will be able to utilize every drop of talent the kid has, as we've seen him do this year with one of our own.

If we draft Perry Jones over actual good players than I'm going to rage even harder than I did when we took Charlie Villanueva.

He is the biggest unknown, could be a huge bust or a star. I say we roll the dice.

No question that he has potential. I would go for a home run on him if all of MKG, Drummond, Davis, Beal, Barnes, Lamb, TRob are taken.

+1 At this point, you might as well IMO. He has huge talent and you can't teach talent. I don't know if he can play the three defensively, but with Casey's love for the zone, it would be nice to have three 6-11 + guys on the floor.

I'm a swing for the fences guys (I'd love Drummond on this team) so I'm not completely against PJ III. I'm not sure I'd take him over Sullinger, but I don't think I'd rage. I think his success will depend on where he goes. If he goes to some team with a clown coach (I'm looking at you Mark Jackson) he'll probably be the bum we saw most of this year. If he goes to a team with a solid, hard-nosed coach (Casey?) he's got a shot at exceeding his draft position.
