Rudy was hitting himself in the head last night. Dont know if he was fustrated or the Lasik didnt work and he's seeing doubles again.
why was hakeem called "the dream"??"

Because it rhymes with 'Olajuwon'.

My Rudy Gay concern is if he was difficult to trade before the season began, he's IMPOSSIBLE to trade at this point. The likelihood Gay is going to opt out next season dwindles by the day. Masai "wait and see" non-plan has painted himself into a guaranteed $19.3M corner for Mr. Gay next season.

Unfortunately, I agree. It wasn't too long ago that Memphis was practically trying to give him away (Phoenix reportedly turned down a Channing Frye/Jared Dudley swap) and only got bailed out by a desperate Colangelo. Expecting the market to completely turn around on him when a) he's playing as bad as he ever has and b) he has a dicey contract situation for next year is optimistic to say the least, possibly delusional.

He'll probably turn it around. I'm at least impressed that he's draining 3s and doing some other things well on the court and at least showing a nutsack when it comes to rallying the team. The big concern is that he's using way too much offence and we have him initiating a lot of his own looks.

It's amazing. All he needs to do is just shoot at a passable level of efficiency and look to make plays for his teammates instead of barrelling into the paint and throwing up layups like a high schooler. But he can't even do that. He gives us literally EVERYTHING else you'd want in your best player, defence, rebounding, hustle, shot creation, clutch plays, etc. But it's the simplest things he can't do.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

At first, I put it down to coaching. It seemed (and still does) as though the lack of diversity and creativity on offense was affecting both he and Derozan and making them into less efficient players.

Problem is that all of a sudden, Derozan has become significantly more efficient on offense, while Rudy has continued to stagnate.

So now its on him.

And this latest thing about banning stats sheets in the locker room...that smacks of immaturity.

Dude...you are shooting like crap and everybody knows it. Don't respond by trying to tell us that stats don't matter. We know you are wrong. Respond by owning it. Tell us that you are frustrated by your lack of production. Tell us that it keeps you up at night knowing that your terrible shooting is holding the team back.

That is what I expect out of a leader.

At this point, I have very little interest in seeing Rudy Gay as a part of the Raptors for the long term. Even if he somehow manages to turn it around, he's not the kind of player we should be building around.

Unfortunately, my guess is that we are stuck with him...at least for now.

So true...

Rudy at least defends well, is clutch and puts effort in.

He's got all the tools except for the one between the ears. Just hope it can somehow click all of a sudden and this tiger changes his stripes.

Can't believe I pegged him before season to make the all-star team.

I understand one bad shooting night but he is having this over and over again.

he just had surgery that completely changed his depth perception. Maybe it takes longer to adjust than people expected. Rudy included.

Him shooting 40.4% at the rim scares me. That is horrendous. He's gotta get on the treadmill.

The problem is that the Raptors don't know how to utilize players.

Every player either improves when they leave the Raptors or plays like crap when they get here.

That;s one punchable face.
"Easy woman. Easy. Don't make Leo slap you around again. Don't make Leo lay another beating on you. Don't make me call my friend Kobe". It was nice to know that I had not only Leo Rautin's back on this one, but also Kobe Bryant's.

If we change his usage, lower it, he could turn it around. We keep things as they are, I doubt it happens.

That and when he holds the ball out when driving so defenders easily strip him. I thought it was basic basketball to cuff it like a football when going in the paint (or keeping it high, but that's harder). Dude gets stripped 2-3 times a game. He's useless attacking the rim. I don't even wanna get started on him with the ball in transition.
