Then he'd better have a reason to believe that we will get Durant, rather than cap space and a vague belief that it'd be awfully nice if we got Durant.

All the whiners about BC's knee jerk moves and know those same people bitching that half a season in he hasn't made more moves?
The guy was left with a HUGE mess. He got rid of two of the biggest contracts on the team without taking back negative contracts. Cleaning up BC's knee jerk mistakes like Fields isn't going to happen overnight.
He didn't make this mess and he's actually ahead of where I thought in terms of cleaning it up.
Yes the team needs a superstar but I don't know any GM that could turn what was left into a superstar.
I don't know what people are bitching about. We haven't even got to the trade deadline when most deals happen. I'm more than willing to give him till the end of next year when Fields will expire before I worry (as long as he doesn't make any BC like bonehead short term moves.

I trust this guy completely. It seems people are hating on him for the lack of moves he's made and forget that he hasn't made a bad move yet. All his moves have benefited this franchise both long term and short term. Until he makes an utterly horribly move I'm on his side.
Will he make a big splashy move this year? Who knows. Maybe the opportunity hasn't come for him yet? But I'm confident this franchise is in good hands.
I'm excited to see who he drafts this year with our 1st round pick and Sac's 2nd rounder. I think that's where he'll truly shine.
To me it's not the lack or moves but the lack of progress.
We are still saddled with a .500 (at best) team leaving us in essentially the same spot as the last decade or so. What I expected was something slightly more tangible, either do something to considerably worsen the team and reach for a top pick or make some moves to significantly better the team. Neither of those have happened.

It would appear that my initial fear that he doesn't really have a plan was right. What he's been doing was ad hoc planning which isn't really planning. And he does this under the guise of "evaluating" which I now see as Indecision Paralysis. He simply can't make up his mind which direction he wants to go. This is bad, very bad. An Executive who can't make up his mind is a bad one.
I had Masai as "Neither Approve Nor Disapprove" in Oct but have changed it to Disapprove today. If he continues to suffer from Indecision Paralysis leading to 7/11 no man's land, I'm afraid "Strongly Disapprove" is just a matter of time.

But that's the thing - he already has made "BC like bonehead moves" by not picking a direction for this team.
So many people doesn't realize that not having or not choosing a direction and sticking to it is one of the worst qualities a GM can have.
We are where we are because Masai did not commit to a direction. He always said "we'll see" or "it depends". You can't do that if you're trying to be a contender like TL and MU said they were gonna be. Sometimes you're going to have to make difficult decisions like trading Ray Allen. We need a guy who can do that.

This sums up my feeling well, and I also voted "Disapprove" for the first time.

Really?
When was the last time we had a .500 team?

Yeah....or Carmello Anthony.
We need a guy willing to do something like THAT!

Well we were 2 games shy with .488 as recent as 09/10, .500 in 07/08, .573 in 06/07 and this year. So in the last 7+ years we're had 4 teams that were a game or 2 below or a few games above .500 and we've had 4 that were below .500.
And our cumilative record over the last 8 seasons has been (roughly) .436.
What point are you trying to make exactly?

Let's not reach for that excuse now, I mean, Colangelo rode that "hot in Phoenix, so it will eventually work here" excuse for many years and Phoenix was a much better team than what Masai had done with Denver. Let's talk about the Raptors, and so far it's been sub par.

Not the point...but whatever.
I'm just not exactly sure what people expected.
He got rid of our two worst contracts, added a future first rounder and at least one solid long term piece in Patterson.
IMHO that is not bad for 6 months...especially given how bad the situation he came into was.
