I still think we're better off with Val + Ross. I never expected Drummond to be on the board for us, but I understood why we passed on him considering we were bringing in Val the next year.
Then again I'm the guy who started a thread on the draft board questioning why Ross wasn't considered a lotto pick. I'm not sure how to get the search function on this board to work properly, would love to find that thread again.

Well.. to be exact, both lists are ridiculously exclusive
The only 20 year olds to average 12+/12+ as Drummond is doing now are Shaq and Dwight
The only 22 year olds to score 50+ are Lebron 3 times, Jennings once, Kobe once, Amare once and T-mac once
Can't really say which group is more impressive though..

Re: Detroit offers Drummond for Ross tonight. Do it?
I would do it and then trade DeRozan for Ross and then trade Ross for Harden and then Harden for Durant and then Durant for Lebron
I would do the same process for Casey till I got to Phil Jackson

Ross is 23 next week. And the 1st list is more impressive because it's a season average and not just for one game. It's just one game, folks. As someone mentioned, CV had 48 for us once.
Even with this one game included, Ross is still averaging only 10.2ppg, 3.3rpg and 12.1 PER compared to Drummond's 12.82 ppg, 12.8 rpg and 21.54 PER. They're world's apart in terms of value and DET would never in million years do this trade. And yet this poll has more than 1/3 of us rejecting this trade??? You guys must be smoking Rob Ford crack!

One game is true but Drummond has only Put up those numbers for half a season. Let's wait until the end of the year to see where he ends up. Personally I really like what Ross brings to the table and would prefer Ujiri use our draft picks to get a guy that can rebound like Drummond. Obviously Drummond right now has a lot more value, even with the 51 pts, but you can't say with certainty right now that Drummond will end up the better player at the end of the day. So for the sanity of this board drop the Drummond talk and just enjoy watching them both develop into great players.

Re: Detroit offers Drummond for Ross tonight. Do it?
[quote="dagger"]No, DET wouldn't trade Drummond for anyone short of a Lebron or Durant, but I'll tell you, I wouldn't trade Ross/Jonas for Drummond/Josh Smith. Dumars, if he survives this season, is going to have to find a sucker to take Smith's contract.
Interesting thing is the emerging debate whether small ball league wide is reducing the need for a high end C. I'm not a believer in that, but it certainly is nice to have multiple scoring options on the wing. If that's the trend, then Ross/DeMar/Lowry is a nice combination to have.
What the Raptors need now is a stud 4 and a backup 7-footer. Take out Jonas and this team's other bigs are just too short and easily pushed around.[/quote
Drummond may become a great player and definitely will be a top 5 C in the league and yes he puts up great rebound numbers and is a beast within 5 ft. after that pretty much blah. His man to man and help defense is putrid and he has no range, his hops are disintegrating with his weight and FT compared to him Shaq was the Master of the Universe. Reality wouldn't trade him for Jonas and hell Casey would have him benched 24 minutes a game.
Very happy with Ross again no worse than 3rd best in his class.
Agree with dagger we need a back-up C someone big and while I have appreciated Amir's contribution to the team it is time to move him in the off season. I have read opinions that he will get 6 million a year for 4 years but think he would be looking for a Taj Gibson type contract of 8.5 million average and he is simply not worth it. If we could get a 1st 22 to 28 for him and a expiring do it in a flash.
Ed Davis isn't a stud but a very efficient PF who in tandem with Patterson ( stretch 4 ) Jonas, Back-up C, a young C from 2nd round like Bachynski and hold over Hayes. Either trade Hansbrough for 1 million or trade for back-up C.

How is this even a discussion?
My goodness, I thought Bryan Colangelo and his useless staff were run out of town a long time ago. Apparently they have all flocked to RealGM to post on the forum. Thankfully the "majority" agree that you trade Ross and don't look back but this should have been a landslide.
Thank you for the many laughs. Keep the good times rolling boys.

The fact that the 'yes' choice doesn't have 90+% of the votes just shows how delusional RealGM can be sometimes

Re: Detroit offers Drummond for Ross tonight. Do it?
I'm inclined to go with Ross just because I've seen him play a lot and like what he could bring if he finds consistency, and I haven't seen Drummond play enough and only really know his stats.
But I might still go with Drummond because of the way Amir's been playing lately. It really looks like the starter's minutes are taking a toll on him. Plus, against teams like the Clippers yesterday, it kinda shows how small our front-court actually is. I don't know if Drummond can handle the PF spot (he's a C in Det, right?) but if he can, I might take him and his defense and big body in the paint.

Good Lord, the little stoner's got a point.

Really? you can't choose between a fluke 50pts for a 10ppg player VS averaging a double double on good efficiency?
as someone mentioned, Charlie V (and i was a fan of Charlie his first season), was 2 off from that at a younger age if im not mistaken.
