I'd like to point out that our best 5 man lineup had GV on the floor, and he actually showed up to play all playoffs

He's also an expiring contract this year. Not a bad deal at all, if true.

Masai's mentioned several times he's hoping certain talents drop to 37. I think this is him not risking missing out. It seems he's got his targets set on a handful of guys projected in the late 1st round range.

Honestly, I don't see Lowry coming back if we land Ennis or Payton.

Rival GM's must have the "Warning: Incoming Game" audio from ReBoot as Masai's ringtone for whenever he calls. Doesn't get much morning intimidating or Canadian than that.

Im confused though, can't John Salmons be waived before June 30th and he would only be owed 1 million?
That would be Memphis' objective - to save money.

Thanks. I was looking at it wrong. 7.7mill owed to Prince for next year, they waive Salmons, pay him a million, save 6 million. We pay for another pick basically.
On Gerald Henderson vs Derozan:
"Yes. Hendo is quite a bit better than DeMar.
So yes, I do believe he's currently the better player and do project that will continue to be in the future. I would also take Turner over DD."

That's quite possible. I wouldn't be surprised if it were Ennis and Capela though, or even Inglis and Capela.

If he has chosen two players he wants, he would have to wait till the 20th pick comes up to make the trade. Otherwise you are making the trade now with the hope that the players drops past 20.

37 is still in a good range to get a good player. I'd prefer the original deal with 59, but then again we get all the best pieces in the proposed deal either way.

Prince >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Salmons
22>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 37 or 59

I kind of hate this. Spending $6.7M ($7.7M cap number) for #22 is nuts unless we had zero plans for FA. I'm hoping to get more for Salmons, if not by himself then in a bigger package.

Edit- and #37? Get out. I know we're smitten with these picks in the #20 range and we never acquire picks, but no freaking way.

Obviously. Those are guys in our range which is why we're speculating about them.

Its refreshing to see a GM think the same way we do. Usually when BC made moves I was always left thinking WTF

I remember the first off season with BC in charge people used to say the same things. How BC is smart and all that.

Really we just have to wait and see how MU plans pan out before deciding if he is doing a good job.

It's a $6.7 million salary dump by Memphis, so worth the #22 pick by itself.

Question is, would Masai package 20 and 22 to move up into the mid-teens.

Not sure if there is anyone in the mid teems that Masai really wants. Looking at all the workouts, most of them are in the 20s. Maybe Masai wants Ennis and Capela together, or KJ?

Mark Deeks @MarkDeeksNBA · 2m
If this goes through, Masai Ujiri will have landed two first round picks in a stacked draft for Andrea Bargnani and John Salmons.

Even the crappy version of Tayshaun Prince would've been great for us against BKN. Joe Johnson would NOT have run all over him, whether or not Prince is old.

Jonas+DeMar+Ross for the 22nd pick. IT'S ALL ABOUT DEM PICKS!

Seriously though, I really hope we get another pick without giving up something valuable from our team. If we could get the 22nd pick with basically just having to take on a year of Prince's contract, do it immediately.
