I love how everyone praises the Spurs for drafting international players late, the Bucks for drafting the Greek Freak, yet they freak out when it's our turn to take the risk.

We swung for the fences with the youngest player of the draft. Let's show a little trust in Masai before we all commit ritual suicide.

On the one hand, probably could have picked him later in the draft. On the other hand, the picks at this part of the draft all have about equally low chances of being successful. Not sure it's worth getting worked up about.

I don't know anything about the guy or if he would have been available later....but I definitely like what I see from the few videos out there.

On the surface the pick looks questionable but I'm gonna give Masai the benefit of the doubt for now.

BTW - love all the folks on twitter complaining about the Raptors drafting a "euro"

Most of you trashed on Valanciunas too, remember that.

How in the blue hell can you compare his situation with Jonas'? Jonas at his age was already playing in the strongest European league, putting up good stats, was dominating every youth competition he entered, was playing for Lithuania's men's team and was projected to go in the top 10 in the draft, in the end people thought he shouldn't slip past the 4th pick. The Brazilian dude has done nothing to warrant the 20th pick in a stacked draft. Hell, you could've easily picked him in the 2nd round. If he's two years away from being two years away, it tells you a lot.

Can't judge the player, I have no idea what he's going to be.

Nobody in the raptors range had real potential so I guess masai went for the moon and went with the raw athlete with massive potential.

Everyone heard of Giannis before the draft, so that pick wasn't a surprise. No one even knows who Bruno is.

I like taking risks but the pick at top 20 is a crazy reach .... could of had a player who could contribute right now not a draft and stash guy like Bruno who's 2 years away from being 2 years away :roll:
