We all expect it in the 20+ range likely around 25. No news there. Some of us like discussing prospects though and it's still not often that this team has a second 1st round pick, so why not have a general draft thread that includes both picks.
I think we've had multiple first round picks twice in the team's history before this season, unless there is a third time I'm forgetting?

Oh yeah, in terms of tracking prospects, go nuts. I'll read it. I've seen some posts the past year to date speculating about the pick being better than mid 20's is all.

I think we'd all be stunned if it somehow reached the late teens.

The more I think about it, the more I hope Masai targets Onunoby and makes trades, if necessary, to grab him, assuming he plays anything like he did to end last season. We need a big, strong defensive minded wing who can shoot the 3 and we needed it yesterday. This could be our Kawhi.. Casey would fall in love with his size(6'8, 235lbs, 7'6 wingspan) and defensive versatility(He's guarded everyone from point guards to power forwards).

Bring him home Masai.

Clippers at Grizzlies tonight. I don't have high hopes here, but then I'm already surprised the Griz are even above .500.

I hope this is one of those drafts that sees a dude like Ivan Rabb who opted to stay in college fall to us in the 20s

I don't think Rabb will fall past the lottery, but like any other draft there will still be good prospects in the 20s. If Masai doesn't deal one of the picks he'll at least have the benefit of increasing his odds of success. There are usually 2 or 3 good picks in the 20s and several forgettable guys.

I wouldn't be shocked if the Raps trade both their picks for an established SF or PG.

Why a PG? We're pretty set there...

If they can grab a 2 way SF who is relatively young still(26 or 27 at the oldest) then it's a deal worth making. Not sure who would be available, that's worthwhile, for a couple picks in the 20s though.

I would be. We pretty tight on salary cap. Possibly pick and player for an upgraded player, but a straight picks for player trade would be shocking...

Just wanted to post the above list to keep expectations realistic once the NCAA season begins. On average there seem to be roughly 3-5 guys who have NBA careers in that range each year. The number of starters is fewer and the number all-stars is quite low.
Maybe I should include this in the first post?

I think cheering for BK to win is just as important if not more than hoping for the clippers to lose. Clippers pick is going to be in the 20's. Paul and Griffin in Contract years?

BK has been kinda impressive so far. If that pick is late top 10, early teens, that'd be a huge win for the Raptors.

I really want to see Dennis Smith go off. He has the green light on NCS. My early pick to go 1st overall,

100%. I think he looks like a player also, he's got an NBA body, is sneaky athletic, plays 3/4, and can contribute right away defensively.

He doesn't shoot a lot of 3's but it seems like hes got good form and he can knock them down.

Justin Jackson went off on Friday with 27 points and 4 of 5 shooting from 3. Anunoby is the model of player we need most, but if he's gone we need some more productive small forwards available.

Amazing draft class this year, I'm keeping my eye on Tyler Lydon. He could be a decent PF for us. If we look for a SF maybe Blossomgame or Kurucs.

OG Anunoby seems like a great pick with our lack of 3/4 depth but I'm pretty sure he'll be out of our range. He'll have free reign in Indiana this year so Im certain he either breaks out or at least improves his draft stock considerably. Too much of a physical specimen, too much potential, and too good of a defensive fit in today's NBA for him to slide to the 20s imo.

I'm really interested to see what we do with all these young pieces. No way we can keep them all. Masai will have to make a move. We have Norm, Delon, Bruno, Bebe, Siakam, and Poeltl.. with two incoming first round picks and a second round pick to boot. The thing is.. all these dudes have value, they're not just fodder we can package away easily. Siakam and Poeltl both look like they can play in the NBA. Bebe is looking like a legit backup big when healthy. Norm already proved himself and then some. Delon has shown flashes in his limited NBA minutes. Bruno is a fun mystery. It's a good problem to have, I suppose.
