Its the only shot we have to becoming what we had this year again....So you have to do it ....Whatever it takes...

If he does become a Free Agent and does not sign that supermax with the Bucks we are deffo getting a meeting no doubt about that and who knows what Masai can pull off if we get him in a meeting

Forget it, don’t put the hope so high on Giannis.

It’s not like he is from Toronto, and the Bucks is actually doing so good and I think they will be heading to the Finals next year. I don’t see how they will not be successful this year unless we found someone via Trade. I don’t see Sixers, Nets, Celtics, and Raptors will beat them. Although I hope the Raptors can back to the Finals.

I feel like we're going to have a very close relationship with Bucks fans for the foreseeable future.

Here's the plan:

We steal a page out of the Clippers book: Bobby and Masai buy courtside season tickets to every MIL home game for the next 2 years. Including playoffs. This should be subtle enough that no one will really notice.

Go for 8th seed, play the bucks in the first round, win the series, and Giannis 2021 is a lock.

This is where we need Pascal to take his game to the next level to become a viable All-Star/All-NBA player that players will want to team up with.

Then we need him to start recruiting players throughout the year. No idea if he has the personality for that, but other star players out there do it, so we need ours to do it as well.

If the Bucks fail to live up to expectations and at least get to a Finals over the next 2 years, he could very well leave.

A pipe dream.

Giannis is retiring a Buck. He has no reason to leave.

International players are loyal.

Of course we should. It certainly seemed to work for the LA teams.

I feel like the Bucks will shop him if he doesn't sign the supermax extension next offseason

That's the only way.

If they even get to a Finals let alone win one, I think he stays

But if it's 2 seasons in a row of early playoff exits, it wouldn't shock me if he bolts.

jimmy keys wrote:The Clippers made no attempt to hide their year long recruitment of Kawhi Leonard. It was well planned and masterfully executed and congrats to them on how it all worked out. You can argue that the Raptors already started this same process with Giannis on January 1st 2018, when 1000+ greek fans sang to him post game. It's pretty obvious Masai has his eyes set on adding him for years and I think the Raptors have an edge on recruiting foreign superstars over any franchise in the NBA. Will we see attempts to recruiting him this year? Thoughts?

The Clippers recruitment of Kawhi ultimately amounted to "we are a decent team in your home city". There wasn't much "masterfully executed" about it, if the Lakers didn't have Lebron there is a good chance he goes there instead to play for the team he grew up loving.

When did he say that?

There's a lot of players that say stuff along those lines but we all know there is no loyalty in basketball.
Even Zion said he wants to be a Pelican for life, but is that really gonna happen? Probably not.

Giannis is not Afro-American. He's Afro-European.

Different type of person.

More cultured, more worldly, and more capable of living in a place like Milwaukee (despite it not having the best souvlaki, lol).

He won't be easily removed from Milwaukee, like Kawhi was from Toronto.

Racist trash. Get out of here.

I agree that Giannis is a pipe dream but one only needs to look at soccer to see that international players are as loyal as their options.

After watching the Clippers pretty much be super open and boarderline tampering with Kawhi, I see no reason not to.

Return to Toronto Raptors
