Hopefully the buyout market will be good to us this year.

Spurs would never in a million years trade him to us unless we gave up the world for him. Would be horrible optics on their end lol.

Do you expect gasol and drummond to play together? At least ibaka and gasol can play with each other against some matchups.

Why are people mentioning names like Drummond, Gallinari, marcus morris, and dillon brooks?

Do you guys honestly think that giving up pieces of the team that have already gelled/built chemistry and adding a mediocre player that's never won anything will suddenly change the outcome of the season for us? If anything those moves open the door for catastrophe. Nurse has a roster right now that he can depend on to play championship-level basketball. We don't need a perennial loser like Drummond to come here and mess that up.

There's no legitimate all-star 2-way talent out there available for trade right now (at least from a fans perspective) and for that reason its unlikely that Masai will shake up the roster. Maybe we flirt with the buyout market or give up a few stragglers away for some bench scoring, but probably not even that.

I agree; 2021 seems to be more of a pipe dream. Really its Giannis or nothing (since Kawhi and Paul George probably arent coming..) and if I was Giannis, I rather take the supermax or head to GS and play with Steph and Klay and almost guarantee myself a ring. If the right deal comes along that means we take a big long contract but for a star, so be it

I think Giannis either takes the Supermax (5 year 247 Million dollar historic deal) to sign with Milwaukee, or goes to Golden State. I read on Twitter a couple of months ago that there were rumblings that Giannis's girlfriend has a desire to go back to California. She is from Fresno, and all her family is there. Apparently not a fan of Milwaukee's cold weather. Wants Giannis to play in California. Not sure how accurate this is, but i doubt if Giannis leaves 247 M, he would want to drag his girlfriend to another cold weather city like Toronto. I think the Masai connection is a bit overrated.

I think we should just target a guy like JJ Reddick or a Bogdonavic.

I really think Masai is looking to trade for an expiring cheap with second round picks and fillers like Miller, McCaw, Stanley etc. I don’t think he is thinking of trading Ibaka, Gasol or Fred unless he gets blown away by a deal for a star player.

All the rumours have been on expiring players like Drummond, Gallinari, Tristan etc.

To me it looks like he is waiting to see who he can get cheap from that batch.

I have a feeling we will shop FVV , I don’t think we can afford to give him max next season

Yes 100% trade FVV for a guy like Covington. It's a savvy move Masai would make too.

That's one way to make sure McCaw continues to play 20+ MPG.

Do not compare Gallinari with the other three guys. I agree about Drummond. Gallinari has been superb with OKC, and is not a mediocre player. Averaging almost 19 points a game, and his contract is done after the year. That is why i mentioned a package of Powell, Johnson, McCaw (along with the Raptors trade exception of 2.4 M). Salaries would match up. Just me being Masai. I agree with the other 3 guys.

Yes . You need to understand we lack rebounding badly and Drummond would fix that no problem.

CBS put together a list of 99 players that could be moved by Feb 6th.

https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/nba-trade-deadline-2020-from-danilo-gallinari-to-chris-paul-99-players-who-could-be-moved-before-feb-6/

Pick your poison.

--------

From the list I like...

Bjelica [McCaw + Miller + 2nd OR McCaw + Boucher] - Having a great season for the Kings. Has hit big shots down the stretch. Stretch big and decent defender.
GRIII [Boucher + Miller] - Breakout season - considered a 3&D guy
Aaron Gordon - Buy low. Still only 24 with tons of potential
Patty Mills - Just in case Lowry or FVV get injured, Mills would be a great replacement. Another champion, that has big shots all throughout his career, whether its during the NBA finals or on the international stage. He's a winner & a solid vet to have on your team.
Aron Baynes [McCaw + Miller] - Physical big, can stretch the floor, having a career year.
In Masai We Trust :meditate:

Gasol is obviously an important cog, not sure why people think Drummond or Love would work here as neither guy can realistically play alongside Marc. Norm is playing great now so he could be a sell high piece plus clearing the last year of his contract. But who is available now that is a substantial upgrade on what Norm has given this year? I can’t see any big splash moves coming, especially given the team record and injury woes this year.

Any trade for Bogdonavich would have to include Powell....and with the Way Powell is playing right now...might keep him and not ruin team chemistry.

I think I would only entetain trading guys like Ibaka/Powell...if a Bradley Beal caliber of a player became available (yes I know beal cant be traded this season)
Ibaka and Powell don't get a Beal calibre player

uhhh.. with the way norman is playing all of a sudden... i think wizards wouldve said yes to a ibaka/norm/1st for beal.
