Very difficult to find that star. The Kawhi scenario isn't gonna happen again

Doesn't even have to be Kawhi. Beal or anyone that is a first scoring option would do. It's hard to predict who since I believe we'll just have to wait to see who demands a trade. If we were further along in our asset collection, we may have even gotten Harden.

you don't trade a player like siakam after getting a lotto pick. do that every year that's a treadmill team. this is only his third season getting starters minutes. he's the only established big man left on the team give him a break.

For the right offer..sure.

But the asking price would be high. Haters are just going hate.

It was a mistake signing him to that deal and artificially making him the first option. He’s a 3rd option on a good team, similar to how Draymond Green was a supporting star all those years. If we can get two star level players on the team then Siakam will likely bounce back into being a good player. I would definitely trade him if the return is right, however his value is likely at an all time low right now.

Masai and Boooby just got played dealing Norm and not trading Kyle, they need to be on a tight leash.

Trade pascal and resign Masai and if Masai doesn't stay, fire Bobby. Masai is the braintrust, not Bobby.

Yes, 100%. And while you're at it, find a new home for FVV too.

I mean Pascal is a good player and I would love to have him on the team but NOT for $30,000,000+ per year.
He still needs to prove he is worth that salary, otherwise I'd rather have him traded.

If anyone thinks that one decent game in 3-4 (on average) is good for his salary than I don't know what to tell you. Most worrying fact is his nasty character and primadonna mentality. I would definitely explore off season trade.

I’d trade him for Paige Bueckers + cash.

He's acting like a spoiled brat. Complaining even after obvious fouls. Its sad to watch. This team is soft. And for hockey fans that watch Raptors like me, there is nothing worse than playing soft out there. Only OG and maybe Yuta are showing up.

I would try to. Not sure how many deals are out there to make us better involving Siakam. His value can’t be very high right now

Depends on what we can get. Personally, I think that once COVID is done, he'll really bounce back. A proper summer of training with Rico, and actually building a proper roster with him on board will do wonders. I still really like Siakam's game, and I've enjoyed watching him grow as a player.

That said, I'm still not quite sure he's a "max" player. He's always seemed like a Shawn Marion type to me, which is really valuable on a good team but the huge contract can set a team back that needs a go-to scorer.

Personally, I think Siakam would be incredible on Golden State. With a healthy Klay & Steph spreading the floor and creating opportunities for him, I think they'd be a top-tier contender again. I'm not sure what they'd be willing to give up - obviously a package of the Minnesota pick, Wiggins and Wiseman would be a big time return for us, though it doesn't seem realistic to me right now. He'd also be amazing on Sacramento with Fox/Haliburton.

My guess is that a Siakam return could be let a better version of the Rudy Gay trade - a bit underwhelming on paper, but something that would give us the assets and depth to get moving on to whatever is next.

One big issue that could happen to this roster is that I think that our core of Siakam, Fred, & OG are all guys who are best used on good teams. They're not like Beal/Lavine/Vuc/Russ etc where they can put up great stats on bad teams (nothing against those guys). So if we're a bad team again next year, I'd expect their stock to drop.

I think the decision to trade him largely depends on what you can get in return, and what else is happening for our team via the draft/free agency. If we get a franchise-level prospect in the draft and/or the market for Pascal isn't very good, it probably makes sense to keep him. If we make some push for 10th or get unlucky with our pick, you probably have to consider what you can get for him, the avenues for our team to improve will drop off a lot after our players' contracts start escalating, particularly Pascal's.

It's all about who you get back in return. Nobody on the team should be considered untouchable.

If we're really doing a full rebuild, it makes sense. If you get a very good offensive star to pair with him, probably not. I still like his overall versatility. I just hate that his 3 point shot is gone now, and his overall offensive consistency is like a roller coaster.

Even if you have soured on Siakam and want him off this team, trading him now is an all time stupid move, at his lowest value

Give him another season in Toronto, hopefully not next to Baynes, improve with the addition of a good rookie and maybe a FA C, try to compete, see if he can make All Star/All NBA and then reassess.

He's still a positive impact player, so it's not like we have a burning need to get rid of him

This 100%. I'm talking to the Warriors in the off season season proposing a Siakam for Wiggins+Wiseman and Minni pick deal. If you're lucky maybe even pry that GSW 1st as well. That's a hell of a start for a proper rebuild.

I really don't understand this deal from GSW's perspective. Where does PS fit in GSW's structure? They already have Draymond who plays that type of role, and does it much better. They would probably prefer to have Wiseman's size (let alone youth and potential) than an undersized front court of PS & Draymond, and Wiggins fills the role of 3rd option already. And why would they then throw the Minny pick into this deal as well?

While were at it, let's suggest we include a Lowry and Curry swap in this deal as well
