I hope we give him the green light to experiment in a realistic manner. Nurse can't limit him to being a 5th option on the team like we did with OG in his first 4 years.

Barnes got the handles and feel to not be that restricted in the offence.

It definitely looks like Suggs will have a huge role with the Magic and be able to have monster games right away. Meanwhile Barnes will have a tighter leash on the Raps.

I could definitely see many Raps fans turning on Masai and Bobby initially - but in 3 years hopefully it’s Barnes > Suggs and it’ll look premature.

looks like finally, everyone coming around the Scottie pick...just so all you Suggs lovers, Barnes was projected to 5 / 6, so if the raptors. tried to trade down, Orlando & OKC would have drafted him...

Important note: Raptors have been interested in Ben Simmons, they tried to get him at the trade deadline, didn't happen then & even now, the laughable demands by Morey for the trade, so the raptors got a ben Simmons type.

love the pick, but we have to upgrade the guard position, we need size - Lonzo for kyle? who knows, if that will happen

the main thing is that the raptors got the franchise player they wanted,

all due respect, the Raptors Realgm posters don't represent the majority, lets get real...we all know how the fans reacted to Demar trade overhere, heck, people still want him back, ignoring that he didn't perform when he needed to with the raptors & also spurs, he was projected to take the next step that under Pop, that never happened...

Masai / Bobby are fine, they've done their research, selected the BPA based on potential...that's what it is potential, look at zion, amazing talent but team hasn't done squat & he has become an afterthought nowadays, not mentioned by espn

Barnes has some really good hesitation moves because of how big his mitts are, along with the nimbleness of his size, I can actually see him taking a lot of guys of dribble even without that elite first step.

Hope he doesn't bring the clapping the hands or slapping the floor schtick on defence in the NBA lol. Quick way to be a cringe meme

I know people will get caught up on raw numbers but I will judge by BPM and team wins at the end of the year for Barnes and Suggs. Barnes impacts winning in a lot of ways beyond box score stats.

I just didn't really feel it.

Barnes, OG & Siakam can 100% coexist in winning fashion as long as we have an actual #1 scorer (and not named FVV) .... so no not right now.

This team is perfectly suited for a guy like Beal.
We just need a guy that can create his own shot and score at will.
Surround that scorer with the length & elite defenders that we possess and you got yourself a tough team to beat 4 times out of 7 in the playoffs.
In Masai We Trust :meditate:

Barnes is definitely an Alpha type player. Dude will bite your head off.

A 6'9 Marcus Smart that could improve his shot?

Yes, I did. They measured his wingspan as larger than what they had at the combine. 7'3.5 instead of 7'2.75. His hands apparently also measured bigger, so either he grew, the combine measurement people are slacking, or the Raptors don't know how to measure.

7'4" wingspan, good lord.

47cm?(hand) that can't be right either. The laughter though.

27.

kawhi was 28.5

his handle is going to be deceivingly tight as long as he spends time with that footwork.

It's the Kawhi thumb to pinkie, with "conversion". Idk I still hear 47, maybe it's my cans.

It's the "Iv'e never seen that before" that gets me. We had Kawhi.

Yeah I keep hearing 47 but he probably said 27 which is a little closer to the combine width of 10.25 inches.

I hope this kid still has a bit more growth in him but he is turning 20 so maybe this is it. Which is still damn good as measurements go.
