Teams who do not play their player, that player usually end up being waived, so I don't see that.
Birch is starting as well, that is the reason he signed with us instead of the Bulls.

Most likely this is our lineup:
VanVleet / Flynn / Banton
Dragic / Trent / Wainright
OG / Barnes / Watanabe
Siakam / Boucher / Dekker
Birch / Achiuwa / Gillespie

Dragic will NOT start. He's a throw-in because we wanted Precious. Dragic is also injury prone...so if there is a chance you are looking to trade him this season...your best interest is to keep him from getting injured and therefore, playing him as little as possible. He's out for 3 to 4 months with whatever injury...kiss any chance at getting any value in return for him in a trade. Don't give a **** how much money he makes. He's not supposed to be a Raptor.

You don't sign Gary Trent to a bigger and longer deal than Dragic's one year salary to have him come off the bench. You don't draft Barnes so that a guy who doesn't even want to be in Toronto eats into his minutes.

If Dragic gets the Andre Iguodala treatment...which is...tell him to stay home and away from the team until a trade is made...that's probably the smartest decision.

That is your perspective in claiming him "not supposed to be a Raptor", but I wouldn't be surprised that is not how Ujiri and Nurse evaluate. Furthermore, that is not how team evaluate who they would trade for. Meanwhile, no team wants to trade for Iguodala back then, everyone think he was a wash, and waiting for his buyout.

For us to get more from Dragic, we better play him as a starter, otherwise, both agent and other team will see him as a buyout option at deadline (0 value).

...but guess what...Memphis ended up trading Iguodala for stuff.

Once again...you don't pledge to go younger then stick a 35 year old in the starting line-up. If that were the case...Kyle would have been offered a fat new contract...but you heard Webster...they are going young.

Any talk of Dragic being part of the Raptors plans is purely to keep teams from waiting around for a buyout.

Great vid on his mechanics and also why he doesn’t seem that explosive when he jumps or his first step being so lacklustre

Keep in mind that Igoudala's role is different than Dragic.

Meanwhile, we shall see, just don't be surprised Ujiri and Nurse would start Dragic.

The thing I liked most about the 7 threes is they all came in different ways for the most part. ie catch and shoot, pull up, fading to a side. The kids got some serious game. He really does have the Luka vibe to him

Kuminga's got some decent tools in his offensive tool belt. Having those elite vets on the Warriors should do wonders for the guy

So three Summer League games in and here are my thoughts.

-Patrick Mutombo is a huge downgrade from Jama Mahlalela at this point. I trust the decision to make him HC of the 905 and believe he will get where he needs to be although alot of what the team is doing does not seem to be working whether or not he is being told to do it.

- Barnes is fine. He's shown me enough to believe he will have a floor of Draymond Green and a ceiling of whatever our development staff is capable of. He's lucky though, had Orlando or Cleveland drafted him things might get rough because he is raw and has very bad tendencies. Not an excuse but the 3 minute shifts are bringing the worst out of him. Even if this is not Mutombo's choice to run these rotations it is still his responsibility to get a positive outcome from it. I do believe we've seen Barnes at his worst and it is because of these shifts. Maybe Toronto wants to show him adversity early? I would prefer they just give him his minutes and run the offense through him to build up his confidence early.

-Malachi Flynn has not shown an ability to form a chemistry with any of his teammates and has struggled to run the offense, show leadership and make his teammates better. I haven't even seen him smile ffs. I think his skillset is way more advanced than his production but he is struggling to buy into the teams concepts.

-Ish looks good. Keeps spirits high, seems to be the one player on this team to understand "its not that serious, just SL". Does a little bit of everything and doesn't seem to go on streaks, never gets to high or too low. If he can just make his shots when he's open this team is going to be very good with him as a rotation player. He might be a real steal of Free Agency, I have no doubt we we're also trying to sign Jock Landale and Wainwright if anything is a great consolation prize.

-Precious is a good shooter...but a terrible free throw shooter. I see this alot with young players nowadays. Very correctable. Will keep him from starting and closing games but I think Khem Birch is in for a productive season and could possible be on the longlist for MIP. If Khem gets injured the teams gonna be in trouble.

-Malachi won't sit the 4th game because he's struggled but I would like to see Flynn and Wainwright sit out the last game and Barnes, Banton, Jalen Adams and Justin Champagnie get extended run. Adams has done very well in limited limits making good decisions despite really being in a situation where he needs to showcase his talents to the league. Theres really no chance the Raptors sign him but he may have what it takes at the next level. Champagnie is going to be a good pro. Let him run some sets, I think he produces postitive results the more you go to him, even if it isn't pretty.

So far, it looks like the majority of the players who are expected to be "studs" are more like Trae Young than Kevin Durant or Giannis. They're second or third tier stars. Cade and Green are great when they shoot well, but I don't see dominance in their game. They're jumpshooters with average to mediocre size. They'll look great like Trae Young when they hit a bunch of jumpers, but I'm not worrying about them dominating my team.

Players like Mobley, Barnes and Kuminga have talent to become true dominant players, but they can also turn into Chris Bosh, Iguadala or Gerald Green. How the hype from this draft plays out will be interesting.

There's a lot of stock these days in shorter players who jacks up shots from everywhere and make them, but I wouldn't call their first tier stars unless they're someone like Steph Curry, and there's only one Steph Curry.

I want to see these guys on the floor at the same time for a good portion of the game.

Previous
Pascal
Barnes
OG
Fred

Think of that defense. That may just be our best defensive lineup.

He's more of a guy that will shoot over people than blow buy(we knew that). He can jump high we know this he's just messing up his footwork. He's got lots of work to do in those areas of the game especially that shot.

I missed the Warriors game, I assume Kuminga must have had a nice highlight or two because his stats look mediocre. Honestly came into this thread thinking I'd see mostly Cade and Moody chatter looking at game summaries (Mitchell too).

He shot 3/6 from 3 and had some really impressive missed dunks. He's going to be a problem if he puts it all together, just an elite level athlete.

Kuminga? He shot 1-5 from 3, 18 points on 14 shots. Moody shot 3-6 but he's not an elite athlete, so not sure who you were referring too.
