I said it before the draft, I watched so many of his college games and I couldn't get over how basic Suggs' handle was. No deception, no shake, no east/west, nothing. It's not the shooting which will probably come around, the defense is there, he can pass, but his lack of handle just limits how much he can contribute right now. When you play the same position as guys like Trae/Morant/Fox/Lamelo/Shai, IDK how excited you can get for a vanilla PG prospect without the flash of those guys.

Now watch him drop a triple double against us lol.

I didn't even read into the prospects after Suggs - all I knew was Cade, Mobley, Jalen Green, Suggs, and Kuminga. I was not impressed with Green or Kuminga in all honesty.

lol this year has been a bit busier for me but I saw Suggs and I thought we were replacing Lowry with him. made sense. anyways I didn't hear about Barnes until late in the game, like 2 weeks before the draft. Thats when I also caught wind of Giddey as well. Barnes didn't look that impressive in college but then again a few minutes of youtube video and tahts all I knew about him.

but once Barnes was drafted, I was like - let him prove himself. we can't do anything about it - so stop complaining lmao.

I ridiculed Scottie Barnes shooting form before the draft. I'm very happy we have him now and I think he is a hybrid of Draymond Green and poor-man's Giannis plus a good shot.

The whole reason the Raptors drafted was 'potential'. I think everyone was expecting Barnes to really struggle offensively but would have great D and can pass.

Suggs was probably being overrated by everyone tbh, including me. I saw him do a crossover to get to the basket and was impressed lol. I was like 'well he can get to the basket easy and dunk even if his shooting isn't the greatest.

I saw videos of Barnes missing his shots close up.

Thing is i'm not an NBA scout lol.

The other thing is college stats are small sample sizes on their own, about 20 games or so lol.

Tbh I honestly think if we had BC still we draft Suggs because of all the hype and whatnot lol.

Let's see how Suggs improves his game, if there's one game he's gonna want to show out for, it's against us lol.
