Re: Tank World Order (7.0)
Joe Ingles was the first Jazz player all year to test positive yesterday. So the Jazz are in a position where a spread is probably more likely than not to happen amongst multiple players. So they could have multiple players out Friday.
More potential fake wins for the Raptors!

Re: Tank World Order (7.0)
I definitely think "add another lottery prospect with star potential to the team" would be the best for our future. I also think it's quite obvious we're not getting a high lottery pick without an unexpected collapse and/or even better lottery luck than last year. We appear to have survived our Covid outbreak this year and we're not in Tampa.
Hopefully Masai, Bobby, Dan and co. can work their magic with whatever pick we end up with. It's harder to find stars in the teens but it's possible.
If it comes down to making the playoffs vs. a late lottery pick, I don't think it's worth a tank just to get 11th or 12 (pre-lottery) compared to having pick 15 or 16. We were 7th last year, which is a significant difference in the odds to move up. I think a tank has to get you to the top 7-8 odds at a minimum. Preferably higher.

Definitely starting to balance out now after so many fake losses to begin the year. I have our record adjusted for fake wins and losses at 20-14 but can easily be 21-13.
But teams should be able to win without their best players which is what tWo said when we were losing without ours. Bucks have no excuse tonight. Must win for them at home. Defending champs.

Yea pretty much. With so many injuries to all the other teams, the Raptors will easily finish 7-9. Opposing team will start resting their guys towards the end of the year to helping the Raptors as well.

I still dont see Masai spending any draft capital to boost this team at the deadline.
Minor trades sure.

There is not tank. Tank you.

'Cos it's easier to try
Than to prove it can't be done

Re: Tank World Order (7.0)
I'm sure we were in the same situation in Tampa at the deadline (even after Covid). We could have let Lowry play and ended up in the play in.

How do you propose the Raptors get their next Kawhi at a steep discount within the next two years? Before Siakam/FVV contracts expire.

This place is schizophrenic. Sentiment about the season did a complete 180 in 1 week.

Maybe if someone had years on his deal (Sabonis, e.g.), but it's unlikely they support this team with much. That's what I appreciate about Masai the most. He doesn't make bad bets.

We still had other guys banged up, guys still suffering from their bouts with Covid, and us playing a full season of road games.
If we just sat FVV this season, which would be the current equivalent, would it be enough? I think we're "too good" to tank as long as we are relatively healthy, which is what I thought last year. We didn't end up being healthy and combined with everything else that got us Scottie. I can't see a way to get this team well into the lottery unless we get hit with a rash of injuries.

Fred being out for the season is what is needed for a tank imo. We would quickly fall apart.

New mock draft by Jonathan Wasserman. Looks most accurate to date.

Outside of the top 10 looks like a team needs good scouting to hit in this draft, luckily the Raptors have one of the best.
