If Portland is going to cash in their 3rd pick. It’s not going to be for one of the worst creators on high volume attempts in OG.

It’s going to be Siakam or forwards with that level of creation ability.

You act as if a 3rd overall pick is a surefire future star... You could get a star or are just as likely getting a Barrett, OJ Mayo, Jahlil Okafor, Kanter, Favors, Porter Jr, Morrison, etc.

The mere chance to get a future star requires a high price, especially considering it's "known" to be a 3 player draft at the top. If there wasn't a generational talent at #1, you look at its value like a #2 or even a #1 pick in some drafts, in this case. Sure there's risk involved, which is why #3 isn't being talked about for 2nd team all NBA type guys or better. But it surely will cost an all-star type player to extract that pick.

The question is whether you keep your known quantity in Siakam, given your timeline, cap situation etc., or go for the much cheaper and younger option, with the possibility of higher upside, offset by the risk of potential bustage.

Plus you really have to consider trades from both sides. Like, trading #3 for OG straight up doesn't bring them any closer to a Finals appearance. Why would they trade their best asset that's not Lillard, let alone attach a young player in return, if it doesn't bring them drastically closer to a Finals? They'd more likely just keep #3 than trade it for a solid but limited role player.

My guess is Charlotte takes Scoot at 2, and then Miller goes 3... I'm not nearly as high on Miller as Scoot.

We should be able to get better value than that for siakam + OG + 13

Raps at least keep the 13 for the rebuild

I actually think if anything, POR feels like they need more value, keeping in mind Siakam and OG will need to be paid and that their depth will be an issue.

I don't think the Raps need 13 if they pickup #3 and 2 young players while still having Barnes, Achiuwa and Koloko. That's 6 young guys right there.

You are undervaluing the Raps two biggest trade pieces.

Remember what kind of value some GM gave for Gobert and his ridiculous contract. All it takes is one GM to overpay and we shouldnt just give away our 2 best pieces for that package

Give me Simons, Sharpe, #3, a future first or two and salary filler and I'd be happy giving them both OG and Pascal. As long as it means Fred is gone too.

The reset would be shocking and we would probably be bad for a while, but the current team is boring enough for scorched earth to look like greener grass.

Damian Lillard is actively working with Portland’s front office to start competing for a championship.

Why would Damian Lillard want to trade the #3 pick for a guy that cant dribble or drive to the basket? OG is also going to command way north of 30 million a year if this next season goes well.

Its not happening.

Agree to a degree.

I think maybe something along the lines where we gift them some cheap veteran depth like Boucher and porter for little, a small bad contract and some kind of futures (protected pick, good 2nds, 2nd tier prospect, whatever…).

We will have a bidding war between Portland and Houston for Siakam. Both those teams want to compete next year (for some reason) and Siakam would look great as the 2nd guy to Lillard or Harden since I don't see anyone else better out there currently.

My honest opinion is that both those teams should still be rebuilding but their stupidity could be our gain. Just like it was the Spurs gain at the trade deadline for our stupidity lol.

Houston - Green + 4th pick for Siakam + 13th
Portland - Simons + 3rd pick + Fillers for Siakam + 2nd rounder

Why are we all talking about OG when it’s obvious that it’s Siakam that they will ask for? Let’s give them Siakam and move the **** on with the 3rd pick.

Siakam is an elite forward. Hell, I'd trade both Siakam and OG for that package.

Something like

Og, siakam, Boucher, porter, #13

For

Grant, simons, #3, little

Plus

Kevin Knox and justice Winslow — expiring scrubs.

Reddish, his 5 million expiring and bad attitude. He’s quickly nearing scrub status.

A future protected first (or couple of good 2nds) and some decent/toolsie young player none of us have heard of.

Portland runs with lillard, thybulle, og, pascal, nurkic

With Boucher, porter, sharpe and #13 on the bench

Plus they have the mid level and an 8.5 million trade exemption to round out the rotation.

Siakam and Dame isn't going to lead the Blazers to the promised land by themselves. And Dame seems to really like OG. And Raptors REALLY want #3 and Sharpe - and to get out of the cap hell they face.

So why not Pascal + OG + Koloko for #3, Sharpe, Simons, Nurkic and Little? Or if Jerami Grant wants to come here, then acquire him instead of Nurkic and keep Koloko.

Not sure what we do with Fred and Gary if something like this goes down.

For #3 and Simons they will probably ask for both.

Exactly. A player that can push them over the top won't be available this off-season. This package would probably the best they're going to get. I'm not sure Masai would do it though. He overvalues his players.

We are not getting the 3rd pick for OG let alone a solid prospect as well. Stop the madness.

The next Gobert overpay for a somewhat limited guy is probably gonna be for a versatile defensive forward who can hit a 3 and not a center, and we might have Dallas offering #10, Hardy and multiple firsts, Houston with Harden making OG a perfect fit, teams like Memphis, Sacramento, Minnesota and Atlanta who all have 2 20+ point scorers and badly need a guy like OG. I think the bidding could be pretty strong.

Probably not making our record any better but were a better shooting team and better in the longterm with the right coach.

Honestly, I'm fine with something like Simons + Sharpe + Little + Future Pick or two for Siakam if they're not willing to include #3

Same. I've been saying this for a while.

Doesn't even need to be a future first either. Portland owns NYKs 2023 1st.

Also allows us to flip OG to the Pacers if that's something we wanted to explore as well.

Go discuss that on the LAC board

OG + 13th for Simons + 3rd is the best the Raptors can offer and a fair deal that doesn't commit either side to fully rebuilding or competing.

Poeltl - Achiuwa - Koloko
Siakam - Boucher
Miller - OPJ
Barnes - Simons
VanVleet -Simons

If Siakam and Barnes still suck at shooting next year then I would trade Barnes. If Siakam can shoot and Barnes can't stay as is. If Siakam can't shoot and Barnes can, sell Siakam.

Trade FVV regardless and get some kind of value for him.

This is the only thing that could kick off a refreshing new start for the team and get the fan base back on the Masai bandwagon.

Trade Siakam + OG For Simons + 3 + Little + Filler to match salary if possible (Im keeping our 13th pick in this deal)

Draft Scoot or Miller at 3 whichever one falls, If its Scoot we get.... at 13 you take Bilal to replace OG if its Miller we get we draft one of the talented guards that would be available. Lets say for sake its Scoot we get though...

Team next year looks something like

Scoot
Simons
Bilal
Barnes
Poeltl

Little
Flynn
Banton
Precious
Boucher

Would be fun and put us on Barnes timeline more with a trio of Scoot/Scottie/Bilal to grow together and add Simons in there.
