At the very least he’s gonna be electric in summer league. Gonna find Dick for lots of shots

He’s the type of guy who’s go off for Summer League MVP and lead us to the Summer League chip lol

On what volume? Nobody is going to expect a sub-6 footer to consistently take shots at the rim, he'll need a middy and be a long-range threat to round out his game, since he's not going to be able to add inches

If he had that element to his game, he'd have gone in the first round.

At the same rate as Kobe Bufkin, but 20+ percentage points lower. More than Keyonte George, Marcus Sasser, Nick Smith Jr, Cason Wallace, amongst others.

This is an amazing signing. This guy was probably my favourite college player. If he was 6'1 he'd be going 2nd in this draft. Super skilled, smart, amazing vision, all heart.

Defensively obviously at 5'8 (generously) gonna be a problem, but he is really quick and tenacious on that end.

Not farfetched in the slightest. Flynn hasn't accomplished much in a Raptors uni, if anything at all.
Wouldn't be surprised if Markquis leaps him in the depth chart rather fast.

Remembering the game against Kentucky, he cooked Cason Wallace, so it makes me feel infinitely better.

He was the best PG in college basketball this year and it wasn’t really even close. He cooked everyone lol

He sort of always reminded me of Kendall Marshall in that sense. Odd comparison, but I always felt like things could've gone a whole lot different had Kendall been developed by the Raps.

lol i was trying to think of who he reminded me of and this was it. I was rooting for Marshall but just too many challenges to overcome.

nice pick up....I thought he would've at least been drafted after his feel good story run.....I guess he wanted to take the FVV route

Anyway at least Nowell actually earns a lot of his assists and creates opportunities for teammates instead of just getting garbage ones due to ball-dominance like FVV.

If he can improve his shooting consistency he could work as an FVV replacement. Much better athlete than Fred too. Just some severe weaknesses like the rebounding and rim finishing.

He's not an NBA player IMO.

5 year senior, he's 5-8, and doesn't have the athleticism to make up for it. Not a fan of the signing, because I really don't see how he makes a rotation.

I definetly saw a game or two.

I will personally guarantee this kid doesn't play an NBA game. He struggled to score at the rim at the college level. He has fine vision + IQ, but he's not the best shooter either.

He's a guy who's going to float around the gleague. Quote me on it.

I mean how many 5'8" are in the league playing now? 0. That's a very easy prediction to make. Still rooting for the guy but chances of him making it is less than 1%

He’s gonna have to play at such a high level offensively that it’d be impossible to out there for meaningful minutes.

Idk why this FO is trolling the fan base by refusing to get actual guards

It's a nice story but let's acknowledge the reality of how extremely difficult it would be for him to have significant impact in NBA. Surely there were better options.

It's pretty rare to see a guy break down college defenses the way he did. There's a lot less space in the college game, and the game is officiated in a way that usually allows for more contact on the perimeter. Cason Wallace was my top choice at 13, largely because of his defence, and he couldn't stay in front of Nowell. With more space to operate in the NBA, he'll definitely be able to get to the paint; his floater/finishing game will dictate how long he sticks in the league imo.
