it's not out of the realm of possibility we give someone a bruce brown type deal that indy did - give a big # short term salary and retain their early bird's rights.

oubre doesn't have bird's rights since he only signed a 1 year deal with philly but his cap hold isn't huge either considering his low salary last year.

but if we throw him a 2 year deal @$10-12 mil a year, he may come here.

9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Dyson Daniels isn't a free agent and he's still a little raw, but would love to take a chance on him and see if he can develop into a solid role player off the bench. 6'8 athletic point guard with a great motor and solid defence, we need more role players in this mold (height, wingspan, athleticism, good defenders etc).

We literally just blew up our team because we had an entire roster of players in that mold. They couldn’t shoot or score in the halfcourt, remember?

He's 21 years old and has shown the ability to shoot and score when provided playing time. He fits the timeline and is a good prospect to take a chance on. Regardless, we have 3-4 scorers already in Scottie, Quickley, RJ and Gradey. Yes we definitely need more shooting and at 21 years old, he hasn't hit his ceiling. But clearly what we saw throughout this season and especially in the second half of the season was our tremendous need for complimentary role players and defenders and Dyson's potential upside is much more than that. Nonetheless, if we had any interest in him it might be difficult to pry him from New Orleans.

In addition, his index grades speak volumes of his defensive and playmaking abilities.
