More like posters around here are so predictable. Who in their right minds would expect him to take a pay cut?

He basically signed for what I realistically hoped he would sign for. Not a fan of the third year being a player option though.

Considering our leverage - not a bad deal. Woulda been better with straight 3/120 but it is what is. Becomes an expiring trade asset sooner if it doesn’t work.

Kinda stings if we don't find another good player or 2

Right now we are a fringe playoff team at best

The money is fine, and I don't mind the opt-out. There's now a big incentive for him to ball hard over the next couple of years as he will be playing for his next deal into his 30s.

So if the deal starts at 36 you are complaining. Raptors fans are so predictable.

Decidedly mediocre but I expect Masai to do some work on consolidating Barrett and/or Quickley, Gradley Dick

Anybody else think it's awesome that an all-star caliber player like Ingram pushed his way to our team and wanted to sign here?

Shows the growth of basketball here and how Toronto is viewed.

That isn't something that wouldn't have happened 10 years ago.

This is what this draft is for. Then we need one of Dick/Walter to be in the MIP conversation next year. We still have our picks and RJ. Everybody is 27 or younger, at worst we just need to play it out and let this team grow and see if a bigger deal is needed.

Just curious where you read he pushed his way to Toronto?

As far as I understood the only people interested in Ingram were ATL and TOR and he would've been happy in both destinations

So starting next year, he's here for 2 years and then a player option for the third year?

Bobby in his post-deadline presser mentioned that behind the scenes Ingram was pushing to come here and he basically hinted/winked that they had already discussed a contract extension.

"Brandon wants to be here," Webster said Friday, according to Sportsnet's Blake Murphy. "I think this was an intentional effort by him, and we appreciate that."

Not a bad deal.

I think I would have liked it more if it was 3 solid years instead of the PO but Ingram is going to want to secure his last big deal as soon as possible.

All in all, this is a B+ move for me. Turning bench players and what will likely be a pick in the 20s later year for an all-star in his prime.

Only thing keeping me from giving this a A is that there's going have to be more moves coming. We can't keep Dick, Agbaji, Walter and our 2025 FRP long term without going into the tax and we haven't gotten to see BBQ play enough minutes yet to know how Ingram is going to fit.

Still, all of these contracts should be moveable if need be.

Solid move.

Those posters were on crack but this is a reasonable deal in a vacuum.

Honestly, I like it. He's a good buy-low addition to the roster and the contract is reasonable.

I really hope we get a top 5 pick this year. Then next year can finally be exciting again as a Raptors fan.

True enough;
Its a surprisingly movable deal assuming he looks somewhat like the player he was in New Orleans.
