That's just cold, a bbq cover at the END of summer lol wow. You would think that they would try to keep their STH happy through these hard economic times.

I've gotten to the point where the gift doesn't impress me as much as 50 wins. If they deliver 50 wins, they can send me bupkis next year.

You don't have $20 for a crappy seat in the nosebleeds?

That's beyond cheap! Although a bbq cover is not completely useless in the winter, I keep mine out all year.

No food coupons either?! I wonder what the meeting was like when thinking about what to put in the package...

"Well team, we'll probably be losing a lot of business at our food concessions this year, with the poor economy and cheaper restaurants like Hoops and Subway at our doorstep now. Let's save some money by not printing food coupons this year. Now, what shall we include in our SSH package to reward the fans that renewed after a disappointing year and make a great impression on our first-year SSH?"

Everyone together: "BBQ COVERS!!!!"

"I think we have a winnerrr!"

No but seriously, I think the digital picture frames cost a lot for lower bowl SSH, so they had to go cheap on uppers. But still, it's like giving someone $5 for their birthday. You'd have been better off just getting them a nice card.

Maybe....just maybe, they were trying to buy you off with fluff in the past because of the crap product they were selling you. This year, they are confident that they have a good product & don't feel the need to compensate you with fluff.

This year, they are finally giving you the good product that you paid for. This is the first year that they sold you a good product. The first time they respected you as a customer.

You should feel respected as a customer...............not insulted, or ripped off.

Agreed, I'm not upset about it or anything, just found it random and kinda amusing. It's not really a cheap gift, worth about $40.. but they could've gotten everyone a Raptor-branded 16gb keychain USB drive for that much money, and I bet everyone would've loved them off.

Sarcastic right? You watch to much American TV. What Canadians are in is barely a recession and it will be over in a couple months. Our Banking system is also stable and literally the best in the world (only one in the western world that did not collapse or have major problems). The recession we are in now, barely effects business's/companies like MLSE. Hence, the sold out Leaf exhibition games. Canadians get a lot of American TV, where the recession is bad, and think that what is happening to them means it's happening to us. What we are going through, is a happy day in the sun compared to them, because as much as our government may fail, it doesn't come close to sucking as bad as America's.

On to the actual topic.

Ya your SWAG sucks, but season ticket holders get tons of other events during the year held for them, and the prices did not go up this year. You are lucky you actually have season tickets in the renovated ACC, with a quality Raptor team for once. Maybe if we live up to expectations this year, next year they may toss something big at their loyal season ticket holders.

I say you write an letter if you really want more swag, you'll probably get hooked up. i didn't even realize that season ticket holders got anything but a bbq cover is simply ridiculous, what percentage of bbqs would it even fit properly?

I didn't even know what it is when I opened my STH package last night. Yep, this is probably the worst of them all. I guess they are really cutting cost, even though MLSE makes lots of money.

I'm not looking to derail this thread, but if you seriously believe that this recession missed Canada or that our banks are so infallible your wrong. You do realize that unemployment in Toronto is over 10% right? You also realize that the only reason those banks are healthy is because our government has bought over a 100 billion dollars worth of mortgage securities? Keep drinking the Kool Aid buddy.

I seriously thought this thread was going to be about how our team doesn't have enough swagger.

I can't be the only one...

I totally agree that the BBQ cover is a crap "gift", but if you go back to the email announcement the team sent on September 1st in advance of the ticket packages going out, you will see the following:

NEW! SEASON SEAT HOLDER DISCOUNT CARD
We are excited to be introducing a new Season Seat Holder Discount Card designed exclusively for you. This card can be redeemed for a 15% discount on merchandise at CentreSports, $10.00 discounted parking at Brookfield Place and exclusive offers from our corporate partners. You will be receiving this card in a separate delivery from your season ticket package.

No idea if it might give us food discounts too, but there will be something coming, and one would hope the "thanks for renewing" letter will be in this separate package as well.
