He's already having a new house built in Miami. lol...

By the way, if you guys are unsure of Todd Wright's credentials as a basketball reporter, this piece should put you at ease.

Where do you see this information?

I see he purchased a modest place in his hometown of Chicago and that he's having troubles selling his Flash Mansion.

Any source on him actually building a new home in Miami?

Whatever makes you feel better. He'll probably use it as a summer spot when he returns from his season in TOR/CHI/NY/NJ.

Wades a goner and it's funny seeing Heat fans crying about it on our board.

The Raptors can't sign Wade. So I dunno why you guys are so obsessed with what he does.

its pretty simple, actually:

1. we hate the Heat
2. Riley's hair looks like its about to be pumped and refined by Saudi Arabia
3. We are sick and tired of US media drumming up crap reports about Bosh bailing Toronto and get great pleasure when the same reports come from a US media source regarding a US player
4. the Heat are division rivals. Naturally, we want them to get weaker so we can beat them and get an easy victory year after year
5. If there were rumours about Bosh signing for less than max to win a 'ship, why can't the same be true for Wade? Toronto has great ownership, an excellent GM with a better tan, better hair and better clothes than Miami's GM and we have legal orgyhouses that would satisfy Wade alllll night long.
6. and finally, its been almost laughable watching Riley play out the last 1.5 seasons with pipe dreams to sign Bosh or LBJ. for that, Miami becomes the new Orlando, earning the title Most Deserved to Fail.

Heat are not in our division. +1 to everything else.

i meant conference.

Don't worry about him, he's one of the biggest clowns on the Heat board. He was touting the "Bosh will sign in Miami for sure" lines from the start. Now he's getting a taste of his own medicine, that's why he's over here crying.

If I remember correctly, this poster was even talking about NOT giving up Beasley in the event we'd SnT Bosh to them. LOL.

Ah, good times. I'm going to LMAO if Wade leaves which is looking more and more likely with every loss.

To be fair, the heat have already won the same number of games I projected them to win this month....2. It's not inconceivable that they double that total and win 4 games this month! It's the NBA....anything can happen!

Riley's going to be caught with his pants down, when Wade leaves and Bosh, Bron, and Joe Johnson stay on the same teams

I dont see anywhere he bought another house in Miami either. So he sold his house in Miami and bought a house in Chicago. Interesting.

That's why they're panacing over in South Florida. I mean, they've even put their #2 pick (Beas) on the table for Amare, who could end up being a 2 month rental.

That franchise has been run like a joke for the past 2 seasons. I knew the house of cards was crumbling the minute Riley said "we'll sign the first FA that commits". I mean, what kind of f'n plan is that? Don't you care about fit or need?

Anyway, a dumb plan that'll have a laughable ending if they can't swing a trade at the deadline.

Boozer for the max! .........(and Wade to Chi or Tor, LOL)

Kind of off topic but...

Can someone explain to me why the situation with 2010 free agents is differnet than the year McGrady and Hill signed in Orlando? Why is everyone saying so-so is staying put cause his team can offer more. Wasn't that the case when McGrady and Hill forced laughable(at the time) sign and trades by threatening to take less? If it worked then why is 2010 different? Not suggesting I think anyone is leaving, I'm just curious what has changed.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Different CBA.
9. Similarly, IF THOU HAST SPENT the entire offseason predicting that thy team will stink, thou shalt not gloat, nor even be happy, shouldst thou turn out to be correct. Realistic analysis is fine, but be a fan first, a smug smarty-pants second.

Weren't the Raptors able to offer larger increases and an extra year than another team back then?

I don't believe the difference was as substantial as $30 mil over 1 year. You also have to keep in mind that the next CBA (2011) won't be as favourable to the players so they'll take as much money as possible right now.

I think the Raps had slightly higher raises than others to offer to McGrady, but they didn't have an extra year. I don't remember if the raises were 8% vs. 10.5% like they are now, but I'm positive they didn't have a 5 year limitation on non-bird-rights holding teams.

edit: of course he got full max anyway 'cause the Raps S&T'd him.

What did the Heat do to retain Wade this offseason?

They added Q-Rich?

The Cavs brought in Shaq added Parker, and are still looking to improve the squad by moving expiring deals.

The Raps brought in Turk, and shuffled most of the roster finally giving Bosh not one quality back-up but two.

Miami has the weather, and that's awesome but aside from that opting to pull a Knicks and trying to keep him under the concept that we "might" be able to sign someone this offseason...

Yikes.

I don't know why everybody is on the Wade leaving bandwagon. Miami is closer to us than we are to Boston.

It's called - giving them a taste of their own medicine

Return to Toronto Raptors
