Pretty damn excited to see Val play - Olympics or otherwise. As we all remember he had some really, really good games against Spain and Germany last year - that's elite NBA frontcourt talent.

I haven't been able to catch any games, but from the chatter around here he seems to have somewhat plateaued lately. Hopefully it's merely the type of pause that everyone should realistically expect from a young C.

At the end of the day, the highlights seem to indicate that he still runs like an uncoordinated newborn deer.

I wouldn't say plateaued but he isn't as bouncy as he was to start the year. He's been playing non stop for 2 years now. He needs to get some rest after the Olympics. Luckily training camp won't start til late September and the Olyimpics end on August 12th, so he'll have a month to just relax from basketball.

Anybody know why Donatas skipped the Olympics for summer league? They could sure use another big body right about now.

He wanted good minutes which was something the coaching staff wouldn't assure. Well from what I've read anyway.

Thanks!

It's at 19:00 EEST.

The correct time is 12:10 EST.

Ah that makes more sense thanks. Couldn't figure out why they would have a game at like 3am in the morning LOL.

No, Donatas was unable to join LT camp because of his contract signing issues with Rockets in the first place.

Didn't D-Mo offer his services after Javtokas got injured? I recall reading something about that during Houston's SL. Like he would return to Europe from the US just for the Olympics?

I was hoping to see Donatas play alongside JV b/c he plays similar to Andrea. It would give us a little peak of how that dynamic would work.

They might have to resort to sending out Big Z with two knee braces lol.

I read a Lithuanian article saying that after Javotkas went down they asked Donut again but because the injury wasn't fully diagnosed and confirmed that he would be out permanently, Donut was still hesitant to commit while in summer league. So the Lithuanian selectors looked elsewhere.

The main reason why D mo is not with Lithuania remains that contract issue.
Coach had him as an option and from what I understand even called him, but coach thought D-Mo was not the best option after all.
One. He missed an entire preparation camp and qualification tournament so it would be hard to add player just like that. And two, from what i heard, D-Mo acted like an arrogant deuche.

Got it. Houston already signed D-Mo but I suppose he doesn't want to risk anything as a rookie. He already sat out one game due to a minor ankle sprain.

So this game against Iceland is 12:10 EST? I was fortunate to visit Iceland in 2010 and it's a beautiful country but I cannot fathom what kind of product that they will put on the floor.

I bet most people there have no idea they even have a basketball team. The only thing I remember about them, is that they are sponsored by "Shell''. Blowout or bust.
