Yes, only the winner qualifies for the Olympics.

There are two groups of three teams each. You play the other two teams in your group once each. Canada is in a group with Greece and China and plays Greece tomorrow and China on Wednesday (both games are at 4:00 Pacific).

The other group has Turkey, Uruguay, and the Czech Republic.

The top two in each group make the semifinals. The semis are on Saturday and the finals on Sunday.

Thank you sounds easy enough I don't know much about the other countries teams but greece is missing giannis so that's huge

It's funny how fans can get so emotional they lose total perspective. I still blame Dana Murzyn for the Flames losing the Stanley Cup in 1988.

Doornekamp is perfectly fine as the 11-12 man. Nepotism didn't him help carve out an 11 year European career , several of which were in the Euro League .

I finally got my Dana rage under control ( still working on Dennis Wideman and Sam Bennett though much to my wife's chagrin ) maybe it's time to drop the Dorny fury.

Honestly I figured it wouldn't be an issue anymore, but his career with CB has gone on a lot longer than I figured I'd need to hold this grudge.

I've got Irish blood though, so he's gonna need a Chris chelios/Gordie howe/Tom Brady type career to outlast my exasperation at his inclusions.
That said, pencil doornekamp in for an offensive foul on a FT miss in the 2032 Olympics

Think I saw DAZN will stream them with their FIBA rights, the CBC thing is an additional thing not a replacement thing

If that's the final roster (certainly seems like it), then I'm a bit annoyed they dragged Edey to Victoria instead of letting him be a central player with the U19 team next week. Maybe it's not too late to set him free?

I was thinking the same thing. Can someone please refresh my memory? Didn't we make a decision like this before where we brought a couple young guys to practise with the Mens team and then they jetted off to join the Juniors afterwards? Was it Barrett and Nembhard or Barrett and Simi? Can't recall.

Okay, it's happening. Glad to see, though you got to feel for Edey a bit making all these extra trips with a 7'5 frame...

No need to explain any further my friend. I've known plenty of Irishmen in my time, one in particular, so I understand perfectly were your coming from.

Yes - available by streaming our over the air.

The original plan was all games to be broadcast over the air and by streaming, but in true Canadian fashion , hockey and the Montreal Canadiens have punted us from the airwaves on Wednesday night. The games will still be streamed. I've just ordered my youngest son to figure out all this crap for his ageing luddite father who wishes to watch in his nice cool basement on a large TV.

Latest ESPN Mock has Primo in the first round

https://www.espn.com/nba/insider/story/_/id/31725639/2021-nba-mock-draft-movement-lottery-combine

26. Denver Nuggets
Joshua Primo
Alabama
SG
Age: 18.4

Adding depth on the wing will likely be a priority for the Nuggets, who are slated to be without Jamal Murray for all or most of next season and will see several rotation players enter free agency. Primo, the youngest player in the draft, might be a ways from becoming a consistent contributor, but he looked ahead of schedule at the NBA combine. Tim Connelly has never been afraid to take a high-upside prospect and be patient with his development, and Primo has everything NBA teams look for at his position long term

No other Canadians in the mock.

DraftExpress had been hyping up AJ Lawson recently based on his combine results and workouts. Surprised he didn't sneak into the second round on their mock - should be an interesting two-way option for some NBA team.

Just heard Brian Cooper on the Bob McCown podcast mention Tristan Thompson was in, but can’t play due to a shoulder injury. Interesting.

Canada Basketball announces the list of 14 players currently in Latvia, preparing for the u19 WC that starts this Saturday.

https://www.basketball.ca/news/canadian-u19-mens-national-team-announced-ahead-of-fiba-u19-basketball-world-cup-2021

Charles Bediako
Javonte Brown-Ferguson
Kyle Duke
Zach Edey
Elijah Fisher
Khalfani Hill
Caleb Houstan
Enoch Kalambay
Bennedict Mathurin
Thomas Ndong
Ryan Nembhard
Nana Owusu-Anane
Dominic Parolin
Olivier-Maxence Prosper

12 of these will be on the final roster. My guess for the alternates: Two of Ndong, Brown-Ferguson, Owusu-Anane, Hill, and Parolin

A preview of the championship coming tomorrow.

Ye, I was also surprised he's out, especially with his shooting. He was evidently in the camp at Florida, but they decided not to use him. I guess you have to trust the coaches on that.

After 1, we look like a team who didn’t have any exhibition games before this one. Lots of open looks for Greece.

Did Oshae Brissett not commit to the team because of Nate B. acting as assistant coach? I just realized he was coaching with Nurse. Not sure why Dillon Brooks and Tristan Thompson didn't join but Oshae's reason would make perfect sense since Nate seemed pretty universally hated in Indiana
