He has a long way to go to get anywhere near Maxey’s level. But the potential remains.

His quickness is not being utilized. Gets to the rim but doesn't seem confident and doesn't finish well. If you don't work on those items, then you just become one dimensional like Gary Trent. And when the shots don't fall, you are totally ineffective.

He hesitates way too much on jumpers. Needs to just let them fly. His hesitation is killing this team and keeping the interior congested.

Darko isn't maximizing him.

This is the thing I’m seeing. Darko only knows one way to use PGs and it’s very 90s. Quickley needs to be moving more off Barnes DHOs, double staggers, split action and pistol action. He rarely sees any of those type of opportunities.

His defense needs some work. He falls asleep at the switch a lot on that end and loses his man in his blind spots. Fixable issue, but a weakness nonetheless.

Quickley is one of those players where I don't mind seeing him having 6/16 FGs type of game if it means he was 5/10 on 3PTers.

That efficiency on 2PTers will improve over time, but I want him to be comfortable (and master) shooting a buttload of 3s every game.

IQ is doing well and will continue to get better. He doesn’t have to be Maxey on the offensive end. That’s a high bar to set. The potential is there for him to be a 20+ point per game scorer with good defense.

He at least has some playmaking and he can dribble better, but yeah. Gary is a curious case...he's got giant holes in his game.

So far, Quickly hasn't shown me much as a lead guard and he can't seem to make a regular layup using the backboard...but then, that's our whole team apparently.

Yup. No need to be alarmed. He just needs some seasoning.

I expected better shot making. He’s disappointed tremendously as a Raptor

Look at his stats with the Knicks. The guy is a good shot maker.

His shooting numbers were better as a starter than as a reserve.

he's shooting 44% from 3 on 6 attempts with the Raps so far. also averaging almost 6 assists/1 TO per game, plays solid D and gets to the line a decent amount

he definitely has not disappointed me and looks like a budding star

The point guard hate continues on this forsaken discussion board. Quickley is doing most things better than he was with the knicks. He was a favorite player in NY as a bench piece. Now he's a huge disappointment in toronto.

Casual fans LOVE bench players like they love any player who doesn't carry the burden of responsibility for ultimate outcomes. Thus, the "I miss norm" trope. Thus, the "scotty would be all-nba if it wasn't for the pecking order".

When your favorite player with no responsibility is saddled with responsibility...the casuals start finding their next favorite player who has no burden of responsibility.

IQ is at a big disadvantage with Poetl out of the lineup. Moreso than anyone else. Also...of poetl wants a trade and gets it...iQ will be the primary focus of toxic raptor fans next year. Book it.

Same ppl who changed their username so noone could trace their hate for Lowry 5 and 6 and 7 years ago. We know who you are haters. Y'all just hate on the players with the most responsibility as a per possession function. "I hate Pascal, I hate fred, I love OG". In other words...I love the guy who doesn't do anything with the ball. I hate the guy who has the ball.

It's really that simple to break down the casual fans.

IQ is going to be fine. He's shown a significant jump as a play maker with a minimal uptake in TO's. That's huge for us!

Should he hunt for his own shot more? Absolutely. Might be comfort thing. But I'm confident he's going to be a borderline all-star PG for us for the next 5+ years
