You can't actually be comparing Bryan Colangelo to Masai.

That wasn't the analogy. I was comparing BC backers to Masai backers clinging to past success despite years of evidence to the contrary.

So we are suggesting that the years post championship are comparable to the state of the org under BC's tenure? I think that is a bit of a reach, too.

I would normally believe that however no other GMs would have pulled that trade with no picks involve.

Since they dropped two spots, the front office can probably reach for a two-way guy in the mid-teens without being heavily criticized. I'd prefer a trade down and two shots at this. Maybe for the Hawk's picks at 13 and 22.

Faulty logic... Who's talking about Colangelo... That's how you're basing your argument? So tell me, which exec are you bringing in to replace Masai?

Very strange take here lol

What's strange about demanding actual results from your front office for the first time this decade? How long a grace period should get? Until 2030? His entire life?

Maybe we should just give him a lifetime contract and get it over with then.

Maybe he should actually get a decade? This next year is the first time the team will look to compete since after the tear down.

That is a slant i never thought of or heard anyone else put forward.

I think you’re right because this draft “lottery” wasn’t random imo

Explain Sixers then. Only the Jazz were worse in their tanking ways.

A thank you for allowing Embiid to sacrifice his remaining knee cartilage at the Olympics :dontknow:

Looks just about identical really given that Barnes is no #1. We're about to treadmill just as hard as those teams too.

Or maybe they should get someone who will actually produce results (and an actual franchise direction would be nice too) rather than giving out decade-long free passes.

I trust them too... but a lot of the times they recognize a talent thats not in their reach... giannis. Sga. Etc. Id rather be 6th than 9th for that exact reason. Just to avoid something like that happening. I just dont think theres an argument for "good news". Thats galaxy brain, got em right where we want em, type stuff. :)

Did you say galaxy brain, right where we want em, type stuff? Why that's my forte! Now selecting 9th, the FO can be free to draft whoever they want that's available. And if they really thought 5th or 6th was that much more valuable then perhaps they would have tanked harder? Let's **** go we got this!!!

I think if we cut Castleton, sign our #9, 39 and Chomche to cheaper deals as our 2nd rounders, we might actually be just under the tax with the full roster filled
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Rememeber when the tankers were terrified that the Spurs would catch us? And endlessly criticizing our FO for it? Lolol

Tankers would rather be the Wizards than the raptors so they could pick 5th instead of 9th lol

Sorry....but this agenda is for unintelligent people.

Don't worry....in 2 years the tankers will be super jaded about 5 or 6 of the top 10 picks anyways. And in 5 years they will be super jaded about 8 or 9 of them. They're super jaded about Brandon Ingram and he's the second or third best player from his top 10 class lol.

Rinse and repeat.

Why can't they pick the balls live?

Conspiracy theorist here. Weighted ping pong balls despite a live draw to ensure rigging.

This is it. Someone hold all the balls (pause) and investigate.

People realize Masai has tanked the past 2 seasons only to give Spurs our pick and then to get the 9th pick this year. This has nothing to do with tWo and everything to do with the current state of the franchise when the best people can say is "at least we're not like the 3 worst teams in the nba."

What great standards we have these days. The only losers here are the season ticket holders who have been paying an enormous amount in this economy to watch trash lol.

would that change anything....people could still say the balls are weighted, or come up with some other rigging method

Personally I think "blowing it up" is fun if done right. As a Raptors and Canucks fan I also understand that the owners of the Teams I follow would rather make lots of money. WTF we gonna do.
