Fully healthy Yak still ain’t saving this team if Darko continues to run a defensive scheme that the starters can’t run.

Play a conservative defence with the starters, go do that high pressure point **** with the bench.

Cmb giving up a lot of offensive rebounds is something i noticed in summer league through to preseason.

1 rebound today starting at center and the team got demolished on the glass.

He’s 6’6” and a rookie, not shocking that he couldn’t rebound better, he’s not a centre. You know the roster is poorly constructed when year in, year out they are starting players at positions they don’t belong like CMB at C tonight.

We're cooked! We need a big of the future and a third defense first guy in the starting lineup when everyone is healthy.

Still trying to figure out what keeps Gradey on the floor. His shot definitely is not enough to make up for what he gives up on the other end.

He shouldn’t be on this team much longer.

Yak?

Sure thing

This team needs more guys to take up space on the DEFENSIVE end. The lineups we're tossing out there are ridiculous and Bobby Webster not being able to get a 3rd Center that someone of us wanted when Poeltl was hurt is a big cause for it. Its been 5 years with the same weaknesses...

You and I have been screaming for that C depth for so long

Use your connections to get us part of the Raptors management... they clearly need us lol

I don't think Darko is dumb. If it becomes clear it's not working over a sufficient sample size, he will adjust. He made adjustments last season too.

IQ is not a PG, that's for sure

He's a 6th man scorer off the bench

There will be a starting line up change soon. CMB is already good, its very obvious he should be starting.

Poeltl / Mamu
CMB / Mogbo
Barnes / Walter
Ingram / IQ
RJ / IQ

We need a short rotation like the above. Try to trade Agbaji and a pick for Kessler. We need a good young C as a back up.

Why in the world would Kessler want to be a backup here? Kessler might be better than Poeltl.

Ya unfortunately he doesn’t have the passing/playmaking ability.

Need a legit point guard

Even Nurse knew when to dial it back (and actually had the personnel to run it)

He could become the eventual starter, maybe even right away. The path forward would be to probably dump IQ with Poeltl for some kind of expiring contracts to get under the tax and stay competitive. If we're lucky we come away with some kind of 2nd round pick package and try hitting on picks there for future depth.

Kessler / Mamu / 2026 1st
CMB / Mogbo
Barnes / Battle
Ingram / Walter
RJ / Shead / 2026 2nd

Whats a sufficient sample size? 1-10? 1-15? Maybe 1-20, i think we are about to break records for worst defensive rating

Probably at about 1/4 of the season

You would think so but there have been a lot of teams getting roasted defensively this season. Before this game we were 20th in DRTG.

over aggressive defense rarely works in the NBA, and the only times it does is when everybody on your team is a + defender and + size (like OKC). IQ and RJ are just poor defensive players, Ingram is average at best, Barnes is physically great, but he makes constant mistakes, and Poeltl, while positionally sound, just doesnt get up off the floor.

You might be able to get away with this with the bench unit, but the SL needs to be far more conservative.
