Also. Casey thinks he’s Phil Jackson, never calling TO. He needs to watch Spo or Popovich. They call TO anytime they feel momentum shift away from them. Casey waits till we lose the lead FFS

Without him closing games we lose 10 + more games than we did

We will be fine...

Casey is terrible.

What makes you think Fred is back for next game.

People. THIS. Is the problem.

Forget blaming Delon. Forget blaming CJ. Or anyone else.

Read the facts.

This was the exact point I was making with my thread that was locked for some reason. This time always reverts back to ISO ball when things get tight which usually more often than not turns into losses. The culture hasn’t changed.

Our CORE in a nutshell..

You'll notice Casey's awful play calling/inability to adapt, DeMar's God awful tunnel vision n Koward Lowry nowhere to be found.

So pissed off at this team. DeRozan took some trash shots, but that didn't help with everyone else being so scared to assert themselves in the offense. Ibaka is horrible again, Miles is useless when he isn't making 3 pointers.

People will laugh at this but Casey did a good job of getting this team prepared. I think it was Doug Collins saying that a good indication of coaching is how well a team starts off games. We started off this game great defensively, but the players' mental fortitude collapsed with that embarrassing 3rd quarter.

So it just coincidentally ended up in DeMar's hands EACH possession for the final minutes?!

We don't actually believe that do we???

Someone *ahem* seen it failing over n over yet CONTINUED to draw it up that way....

There's no problem with starting a play with DeMar. DeMar doesn't have to shoot. He's allowed to pass.

Lowry looked gassed. He didn't play great but maxed out on effort. He couldn't even blow by Gortat in the 4th quarter. Delon had the deer in the headlights look tonight. Those were our options.

There's no play called "assisted 3-pointer". Those happen organically when you correctly react to the D, which we didn't do enough times tonight.

Ok so as the coach of this team of how many years now?! He doesn't know DeMar's track record of these late game situations better yet these PLAY CALLS down the stretch?!

It's fine if it happens maybe once or twice but Casey seen it wasn't working n that the wrong decision was being made OVER n OVER again but yet CASEY chose to draw up the same damn thing, that is on HIM!!!

Idk why people are such apologists that they can't admit what terrible coaching that is down the stretch. These same Three Stooges continue to make the same dumb mistakes year in n year out. Any half decent coach STOPS iso-ing a player that has failed on 2-3 consecutive possessions. They don't continue to force feed a cold hand that is only growing further frustrated. Do you think Pops, Kerr, Stevens or any other respectable coach would continue to force it to a single player who was never known as a great passer to be the decision maker?! Especially if they already had several previous seasons and also minutes within the game as a reference point?!

It's rhetorical because you know they wouldn't. Casey n DeMar deserve each other and Lowry is just a coward so we'll leave him alone as he wants to be.

Care to provide an alternative to starting a possession with the ball in DeMar's hands? There's no such play called "assisted 3-pointer" or "unimpeded layup".

Furious doesn't do justice to how I feel. This game for all intensive purposes was handed to them on a silver platter. 29 shots for DeRozan. At least another 14 for Lowry. And I'm pretty sure between Ibaka and JV they had a combined 11 shots. This L is on them AND Casey for his inability to make mid-game changes. These guys will play an entire game from jump to buzzer without making the necessary adjustments needed. Other than "playing harder" (which they didn't) they just revert to what they know. If they were truly as mad as they say they were about the embarrassment of the Game 3 blowout they would've never let today happen. I fully expect us to beat the Wizards on Wednesday and Friday but it's so disheartening to know that when this team goes into Shamblelands everyone (including the coach!) go back to what they spent an ENTIRE YEAR trying to change. Not only the playstyle but the narrative about this team.

The trick to defending Beal and Wall is to sag off them on pick and Rolls and let them shoot wide uncontested jump shots.... :banghead: :banghead:   :noway: :noway:

This L was more than just Casey being a trash coach or DeRozan chucking..

Why do people try to simplify it?

For all our successes in the regular season, the embarrassment this group has brought the franchise is too much.... when teams are scrambling for the EIGHT seed to play you, you know there's a problem.

Seriously- has that ever happened to any other team????

You think coaches don't have the power to bench players?

The lack of discipline is what leads to things like the Rudy Gay 37 shot game or riding with Bargnani come hell or high water. Oh, but Casey can't do anything about it. Bargnani was supposed to be on the bench?!? lolz..no wayz!

Derozan was bad but everyone on the floor looked scared out of their mind to even attempt to do anything on offense down the stretch. It was pretty pathetic

Hmm idk what about our "all-star PG"?!

Or how about the second PG we had in there?! Isn't that what PGs do????

I know it's a slight wrinkle to try something other than what's failed repeatedly but it's worth as shot, no?!

Always easy to blame the coach - but I'll go with the PROS who have more or less unanimously came out respecting Casey and his staff for their knowledge of the game.
Most of you guys probably wouldn't be able to coach an elementary school team. When you lose, you'd blame the kids just because it's always easier blaming someone else.

Even elementary school kids know Casey has no plan to win the playoffs

Right - that's why Casey has been quite successful in the past few years both in the regular season and playoffs. You're just looking to point the finger at someone so to say "that's the guy, that's the problem" - but it's more complicated than that.

Deep down inside, do you really believe that? Please, please say no
