Still put up 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, 1 steal

Solid.

He was overdue for one of these off-shooting nights.

Let's see how he bounces back. The best players in the association have off nights.

The Pierce and Manu comparisons may have to wait a bit after a 4 point game, but yeah it's only 1 game.
There goes my hero. Watch him as he goes.

I didn't even think Barrett had a bad game. Early on when he was trying to get going, he had a few drives that he whiffed on while a few others there looked to have been a bit of contact that wasn't called. The combination of it being the last game of a long road trip and Utah having a huge frontcourt had quite an effect on our inside finishing tonight. Everyone struggled in the paint.

He didn't play as bad as the numbers, maybe only 1 or 2 shots were bad shots. He was attacking the rim and just not finishing for the most part. He played 30 minutes and took 9 shots so you can't even say he was jacking up shots or forcing things really, he just never got a rhythm.

And for what???

For not becoming a superstar for New York??? For not leading them to the promised land???

It's gross. Knicks fans are so concerned with RJ and are praying on his downfall. Don't be fooled by the "But we hope he does well" after they ramble on about how "toxic" of a player he is.

It's like when people say "no offense" and proceed to say the most offensive nonsense.

TBF he was a 3rd overall pick, you're always going to catch extra heat being drafted that high. Tonight was just another example of why. Not hating on the kid, but he is what he is.

Also I dont think anyone has ever said HE was toxic, just that his contract is.

Ya, he missed some easy baskets at the rim which he’ll make 8/10 times. Not worried. He was fine, despite his shot not dropping.

There's obviously some exceptions...like Jimmit, who got banned form our board for hoping that RJ would get hurt when he was still a knick...but yeah, even the camp who doubted RJ on our board pretty much universally acknowledged that he was a great kid. The issues they had with him were always with his game, not with him as a person.

We lost two great dudes, whatever you think of their potential/talent.

Josh Lewenberg: RJ Barrett was fined $2,000 by the league for what was deemed a flop on this play last night: nba.com/watch/video/ut…

He is looking better than Quick. He's going to be special if we can play him as a shooting guard. We badly need a stretch 5. RJ, Siakam, and Barnes would all really benefit from playing with a player of that prototype.

RJ and Quick has been the most consistent offensive weapon since the trade. Even if we lost our last 4 games, it’s been fun following the games

Wondering what will be our next move.m

Trading Trent and Boucher, or trade Pascal.

RJ moves around with force and looks quicker than Pascal. I'm happy with him at the 3 as he has decent strength/size and gets rebounds. We need another guard to start at SG.

Does that means you would use Barnes as PF should we trade Pascal?

I think RJ is much better as a big 2. He struggles with bigger opposition. He's fine in this Derozan role. Just need a 3 and D replacement for OG.

To be honest, RJ and Siakam's fit isn't great either. I'm pro-extend and trade in the offseason but if there's a point in favor of getting a Siakam trade done now aside from a "too good to pass up offer" or Scottie's own development as a point forward, it's giving RJ more room to operate.

Can’t believe he was a throw in

LMAO.

I’ve believed this trade was a fleece since day 1 and over time it’ll become more and more obvious why.

Quickley-Barrett is a sexy backcourt pairing for years to come. Both will be stars.

Just need a 3&D dance partner for Scottie on the wings.

That’s what this FO will prioritize when they trade Siakam (Nesmith, Dort, etc).
