I think you have to take Barnes. He's the only guy that looks like a surefire all-star offensively and defensively, and has VERY FEW holes in his game. He also isn't raw at all and could contribute right away.

Fact is, if we don't draft a star in this draft we are SCREWED. I guarantee that following the draft, Colangelo signs some solid role players to try and make a playoff run, and if that rookie we draft isn't a star? Well we're gonna be right back on the treadmill all over again.

I just wish Colangelo wasn't such an idiot. Why the hell didn't he trade Bosh in his contract year? There was no reason for CB4 to resign, and he was considered the best PF in the league at the time, we could've gotten a fortune for him.

Barnes is really only slightly less athletic than MKG. Considering the difference in skill game, I consider Barnes to be clearly the better prospect. Putting that much into MKG playing a bit harder is kind of weak, MKG plays a more energetic style because he has to if he wants to produce. Barnes effort level is perfectly fine for what his team needs

You don't get it do you. This is not a championship caliber team in any way whatsoever.

Look at Miami, OKC, LA, LAC, etc, etc. This team doesn't have a chance in hell of beating any of them in a seven game series even if Lamb develops into a 30ppg scorer. You're talking about having horrible defense at the point guard position, and not one single proven all-star.

The NBA is a stars league. If you don't have 2+ all-stars, or a top 5 player in the league you aren't winning anything.

why isnt thomas robinson on the list....the kid looks like a great prospect....i dont like all this hype over anthony davis...the kid is very raw so hopefully hes determined to get better because he has to learn alot on the offensive side of the ball

Toronto was screwed out of a 1st overall pick in 1996, the least they can do is give us Wiggins (in 2015?).

BTW, are Toronto and Vancouver the only teams that had to forfeit a chance at the 1st pick(for 3 years)? Any specific reason behind it? There have been multiple years with more than 1 team entering the league.

The Magic (then, a recent expansion team) won the lottery two years in a row in 91 and 92, so the owners made sure that the 1995 expansion teams were blocked out of such a benefit as part of their entry into the league.

Typical NBA, making up draft rules on the fly. Raptors missed out on Allen Iverson and Greg Oden because of Stern's meddling.

Not really. We're already bringing in 2 top 5 picks next year. If anything last draft was the one we needed 2 1sts in, and it was a deep draft too with quality prospects like Reggie Jackson, Kenneth Faried, Marshon Brooks going in the 20s

It'd be nice sure, but "need" is too strong a word

A Drummonds or Davis and Jonas pairing would be one of the worst scoring fronts we've ever had. Unless we plan on trading for a volume shooter like Kobe I don't understand why any of you would want to trade our only scorer in Bargnani.

It's great how you can look into your crystal ball and determine what a player will be offensively without him having played a single NBA game.

I'd respect you more if you just said you don't ever want to see Bargs traded.

Two top-5 picks are on the way... not sure what all the desperation is about.

We also have our second round pick this year as well so that will be 3 rookies coming to the team next season.

 You're taking offense to what I said as if I have some hard on for Bargnani that prevents me from seeing what the rest of you are vying for. We have a proven scorer in Bargnani and I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss a player of his talent to further gut our already anemic offense.

Every post in this thread is based on our personal perceptions of these players and how they'll fit in with our team.

My point is that it took Bargs 6 years to be viewed as a legitimate scoring option on a good team (even though we're talking 10 game sample). So how do you cap guys as being the worst offensive frontcourt ever when they haven't even played a single NBA game?

Just trying to figure out the logic.

JV by himself won't make it the worst offensive front court.

There is some crossover and I see two young bigs who aren't particularly gifted at creating their own shot on a consistent basis. At least in the NBA level. I'll openly admit that I may be a bit more short sighted than most of you but I do see Bargnani as a long term option even if he's relegated to a bench role if either one of the two prove to be starting caliber players. I just feel he's asset worth holding onto until you see what the two can bring to the table on both sides of the floor. This is a scoring driven league and with out more than deplorable back court you've got to keep your options open.

I may have been quick to dismiss their offensive potential but I don't think I'm being blinded by my love for Bargnani either.

And don't underestimate Anthony Davis or Andre Drummond, both these guys have much more offensive ability than they have shown in the NCAA. Right now they are asked to defend because college ball is usually perimeter dominated.

Just go look at some highlights from these guys in HS, they have some serious offensive skills so to cap them as the worst scoring frontcourt ever seems like folly at best.

Baylor plays at 8pm, Kentucky at 9. Let's see if Quincy backs up his performance, loved what he was doing from the high post last game. Would like to see Davis make a nice offensive move tonight.

Do you know if the games are going to be televised in Canada?
