Reminds me a bit of Clint Capella with better range and skills.

I wouldn't say he's like either of those players. He has a similar frame to Anthony Davis just needs to add more strength. He obviously has a ways ago to even reach that talent level but he's got great length and is athletic. Can play the pick and roll on offence but needs to work on that 15-20 foot jumper to elevate his game. Protects the rim, defends the pick and roll well.

I have zero idea about his character and work ethic but I wouldn't be surprised to see him climb up the draft boards during workouts.

He signed a contract with the 905, so does that not imply he is no longer Raptor property? Would there not have been some sort of news release if he was waived?

He was never on the Raptors roster, because he never signed a contract with them. He signed an overseas contract after being drafted (which expired in 2015), and the Raptors retain his NBA rights for 1 year thereafter (which expires sometime in 2016?), but I have no idea what his current status is. As I understand it, D-League rights and contracts have nothing to do with the NBA-side. 905 owning his rights just means that is the only D-league team he can play for. If/when the Raptors no longer hold his rights, then any team could sign him.

Thanks for that, see my edited post above for NBA League rule on draft rights players.

Ah, thanks. Anybody know how long NBA teams can hold draft rights players?

I doubt he trades all of our prospects.

He probably does something like 26+TRoss+Bebe for a future 1st. That will give them cap flexibility to resign Bismack and also provide a future asset. TRoss doesn't really add value to this team now that we have Norm since Demar, Cojo and Lowry can all play the 2 plus I assume we take a guard at 10 since this is a guard heavy draft

This is the most excited I've ever been for a Coin toss.

Anyone know how and when this is going to go down?

Imagine if some way our pick lucked out to be 2nd-5th and NY/Denver pick is 8th; i'll immediately collapse of that shockness

Can anyone calculate the odds for having both the 7th and 8th moving into the top 3?

Someone earlier said that it was around 1%.

Just a note though (and I'm fairly certain of this) the lottery odds for 8,9 and 10 are all either exactly the same or very close (like one lottery ball apart) because the three teams are tied. So in other words, losing the coin toss doesn't really affect lottery odds - only positioning after the lottery.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure of this (and remember it from the Coin Toss Ross incident).

Our own pick is not in the lottery. Since we have the 4th best record our pick is 27th.

TIEBREAKER BASIS FOR TWO-WAY TIES:

(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Head-to-head won-lost percentage
(2) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
(3) Division won-lost percentage for teams in the same division
(4) Conference won-lost percentage
(5) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, own conference
(6) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, other conference
(7) Net Points, all games

TIEBREAKER BASIS FOR MULTI-WAY TIES:

(-) Tie breaker not needed (better overall winning percentage)
(1) Division leader wins tie from team not leading a division
(2) Head-to-head won-lost percentage
(3) Division won-lost percentage for teams in the same division
(4) Conference won-lost percentage
(5) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, own conference
(6) W-L Percentage vs. Playoff teams, other conference
(7) Net Points, all games

but this is the likely outcome :D

Colangelo is inquiring with the league if he can select Dragan Bender with the 3rd and 4th picks.

I think he means, DEN pick to be 2nd and NY Pick to be 8th (that is fine with me)

I'm not sure how "our" pick can be interpreted as Denver's pick in that sentence, but O.K.

It still doesn't make sense because there is no way any of the picks wind up 5th, for instance. That said, I think it's pretty clearly just a misunderstanding of how the lottery works, which isn't something to get worked up about since lots of people fit that bill. A bit more research and it gets figured out pretty quickly.
