Re: PG: Still the CHAMPS!
Yes Siakam played bad..not just in this series but in the bubble period..but he played some defence..what he should have done in the Boston series is stop shooting those threes.. he was playing scared in game 7.. no confidence at all..
I put the blame of the loss on Nick Nurse..for riding Gasol for too long.. yesterday's game did anyone notice when we had a small lead in the second quarter..he switches Gasol for Ibaka at that point..and nothing but turnovers .. it's because all of a sudden Fred and Siakam need to pass the ball to Gasol so he can decide what to do with it.. I thought these were players with higher IQs..and wouldn't you know it..Boston goes on a 11-0 run..coincidence ..I think not..when you are rolling in the playoffs .. just keep doing it till the opponent can stop you.. I don't get it..Ibaka was clearly the better player over Gasol in this series..I'm not crapping on Gasol..it's just about matchups..anywho..all done with now. Hopefully people will learn from this series..but if there is anyone to blame..it's Nurse..

Disappointed with the outcome, proud of the effort the team put in, not sure what was going on between Nurse's ears.

Re: PG: Still the CHAMPS!
That missed call by the refs on the goaltend to FVV early in the game and them not calling Smart out of bounds
before an AND1 came back to haunt us in the end. I love Norms aggressiveness but him driving into 2 defenfers
recklessly is gonna give me nightmares for awhile. I was literally screaming at the TV "No Norm no!!!"

No mention of the clear look passes directly into Boston's hands? They threw the ball to them at least 5 times...

I'm sure that's already been covered at this point in the thread lol

A question I have is how the hell did gasol gain back that weight so fast ? I’ve never seen a pro athlete go from skinny to fat so quickly. What was this guy eating late at night in the bubble smh remember this guy is playing a sport where he’s constantly running. He was playing every other day and he’s fatter than some of us that weren’t doing sh.. but eating on lock down for months.

those no call gold tending’s would not have gone under the radar here. I still have no clue how the refs miss those calls. You should be able Add those points at the end of the quarter After the the guys in Secaucus see it. The league needs to look into making that a rule.Scott Hall wrote:

Shaq said Siakam needs to change his mindset to truly be that star player.

He’s right, with Kawhi this run would have been a cake walk.
Charles also said he’s interested to see how our offseason goes because he doesn’t believe we’re going to pay all our guys to come back. Said he wants to see if we can attract some free agents.
While this is true, it also would've been over sooner had Pascal played atleast to his "normal" abilities. Had he consistently scored even just 20 points it would've been fine.

His shot was off for the entire restart.
When that happens you are a lot easier to guard. Not only did the basket shrink but the floor shrinks too.
I imagine everything just seemed faster for him.
Don't play scared and don't stop shooting.
Go down gunning'!
When it doesn't work out it looks bad but you took your shots. That way you don't have to wonder.

Its a difficult pill to swallow when the loss is easily avoidable, it would be different if Boston just flat outplayed them.
This was coaching errors and turnovers down the stretch. Theres no reason why they shouldn’t have advanced with a few logical adjustments.

Yeah that whole postgame basically showed that the Raptors gained their respect. Everything they said was accurate and fair. They didn't speak in hyperbole like they typically do.

This game was so winnable, that's what makes this sting. We just didn't play to our ability

Re: PG: Still the CHAMPS!
I was pissed last night, I’m still pissed this morning, and I’ll probably annoyed every time I think about this game.
If the other team beats you, that’s one thing. To go out with the execution and decision making of a 20 win team, that’s embarrassing. We spotted them 1/3 of their points off turnovers. Most of those turnovers were such stupid, stupid plays.
This is one of those games where you can highlight 30 things - either a bad call, a bad bounce, or a bad decision - and say well, if any ONE of those things didn’t happen, we could have won the game.
Props to Boston for advancing but by no means did they beat us. We beat ourselves with a tiny bit of assistance from the refs (goaltend & Smart out of bounds if what other are saying is true - I haven’t seen the video yet).
Sucks we wasted what was looking like another heroic carry job by Kyle down the stretch. Down 7 with Boston having the ball with 2:30 left turned into charge, bucket, free throws and us with the ball down two with a minute left. What a crap fest after that.
But it was still a great season. Lots of questions for the future re: pascal and Fred but I’m sure we will get our own threads for those.

It looks like in this game the 1st Q is what did the Raptors in, yet again.

Re: PG: Still the CHAMPS!
when the season started, I thought a total success would be to reach the conference SEMI Finals and lose in 7 like the Bulls did right after they lost MJ/GOAT(Kawhi).
This thing has been a Total success total!!!

It is comforting and reassuring to know that all-time top ten player will be returning to Toronto 3/4 of the way through next season. Next season's post-season will likely end in disappointment as well but after that we go into full dynasty mode.
