Sick of paul Watson anyways tbh.everyone on about his potential... Shot 20% over that 2 week period where the team really needed him to just be his average self. Scored 30 in a game later when nothing mattered. Bum.

Everyone on the team is 23 or younger except Pascal and Fred who are 27. We're in a rebuild motion now and to be honest should have been there after the Championship when Kawhi left. We only extended as we wanted to win and build at the same time.

I still think that's the strategy but we might be in the lottery for at least another 2 years at this rate. Our focus has gone to the young guys now and building them up to be the next iteration of the Raptors.

Maybe, but it would be nice if the Raptors brass communicated that to its fanbase. They don’t communicate at all and leave us all to guess and wonder what on earth is the direction

Last years free agency and draft was equally as confusing. I mean we still had Kyle and the majority of the chip team in tack. What did we do? We signed the likes of major scrubs in Baynes, Len and a host of others. Did absolutely nothing of substance at the deadline or off-season.

The team as it stands is made up of power forwards and questionable assets to grow with else where.

Where is the direction and what is the goal? You can’t count of the cities horrendous media to call them out for answers. Management needs to speak!

Sure they can expose their exact plans to the fanbase and give everyone equal access to their future plans. We had different directions that could have happened, either to compete or rebuild it's that simple. Look at the roster is filled with young talent. It's pretty clear what the direction is after Lowry left and us waving vets.

I think fans still love the BC way of building teams.

Win the popular vote. Suck as a team.

vs Masai and do what's right to building a real team for the next decade

Seems like the RealGM way as well. For people so against being a treadmill team, the way they've reacted the past 24 hours and the moves they've wanted us to make just screams "treadmill." The Andre Drummond suggestion was just icing on the cake.

But they are though bro. That's exactly what they are.

If you really see Barnes as just an energy guy then idk what to tell you

But he is.

I know Masai touched him with the 4th overall pick so now he's going to be a first ballot HOFer but if you look at his skillset, he has no offensive game at all.

He'll need to have a Kawhi type development in order to justify being picked that high. Will he do it? Maybe maybe not. But as of right now, he's an energy guy.

I know people don't want to hear that but the only thing that's really different between him and MKG is the playmaking. Everyone thought MKG was gonna fix his offense and become the next big thing. We all know how that story ended.

I understand getting impatient, but the value for the Raps was always gonna be on the trade market. Let everyone burn up their dollars in this sub-optimal free agency, and once the dust settles and teams start to evaluate, the Raptors can strike with a trade. I wouldn't expect Raptors news until Thursday or Friday. Unless we were getting Monk or Portis on the bargains they signed for, we were best with just bringing GTJ back and picking up taller Matt Thomas. Also, I still say watch for that Holmes trade kicker to come into play.

Be patient folks!
If anything, Maybe take a flier on Tony Bradley.

Again you are wrong on the Dallas front.

They got rid of Josh rich for Moses brown. That's 10mill they saved

Go look at their roster right now, they're at like 75mill in commitments for next season.

75+36 for a Dragic TRADE and THJ bird rights brings them to cap ceiling. Which allows them to use the MLE and BAE

you cannot use cap space AND use mle and bae
please get that point
once they used MLE they are tied to being over the cap team.

at no point they created cap room; they kept the TPE onthe books

Read on Twitter

Can you explain to me how the mavericks are over the cap as currently constructed.

Ino you cannot use space and get the MLE and BAE

porz + doncic + powell + THJ + kleber + WCS + DFS + burke + josh green + brunson + brown + terry

= apx $97ish + 10.5 TPE = apx 108

they havent renouced any of their other free agents like reddick, boban, bey etc whose cap hold also takes them over the cap

thier salary doesnt add up to the cap , but between the TPE and cap holds they are choose to operate as over the cap team.

and as you said you know you cannot use cap space and use mle, why are we having this back and forth, they are operating as over the cap team, at no point did they renoucne players/tpe/cap holds to create open cap space.

Funny, because the team Masai was successful with for so long was mostly assembled by Bryan Colangelo. Core pieces of Kyle Lowry, DeMar DeRozan, and Jonas Valanciunas were kept for a full 6 seasons after he became GM, even Terrence Ross was kept for 4 seasons. Sure, he moved out Andrea Bargnani and Rudy Gay, but 90% of our board at the time would have done that, they were some of the least liked Raptors of all time.

Move some more goal posts why dont you

Since you dont remember, without masai’s trade of rudy gay, colangelos raptors were sinking to the bottom of the east.

Please also list the championship roster and compare it to Colangelo’s. I want to have a laugh.

Clueless.

Does this make any sense? Why waive min salary dudes when we are over the cap?

To create roster space obviously. Will be more players coming in.

Getting drafted into a situation where you join the team with the worst record of all time in Charlotte is far different from getting drafted by a team with a track record as ours

I know you just want any excuse to complain but the pick was a great pick. You’ll see

Lebron/AD haha. Much easier to build a team when you're gifted 2 of the best players in basketball.
