Don't see why the Raptors would rather have the 12th pick in this draft than Michael Beasley.

I rather keep the 12th than take chance on guy who thinks he greater than the team and plays zero defense...
With the 12th pick we can atleast collect young prospects for the future and besides guys like Xavier Henry, Ekbe Udoh, and even Aminu Al farouk if we trade up can be had.

Re: Chris Bosh Sign and Trade Ideas
Beasley has flaws, sure, but you would rather an unknown pick at #12 instead of him? People on this board have compared him to Bargniani. With this reasoning, are some willing to trade Bargniani for a mid first rounder? We picked Derozan with the 9th pick. The 2003 draft does not happen every year, but even in that draft there were misses in the first 15.
1 LeBron James
2 Darko Milicic
3 Carmelo Anthony
4 Chris Bosh
5 Dwyane Wade
6 Chris Kaman
7 Kirk Hinrich
8 T. J. Ford
9 Michael Sweetney
10 Jarvis Hayes
11 Mickaël Piétrus
12 Nick Collison
13 Marcus Banks
14 Luke Ridnour
15 Reece Gaines

There are also plenty of hits at 13 or below. Bargnani is compared to Beasley for their offensive game, inside outside and overall upside. but Bargnani has a big advantage, namely that he's 7 feet tall, and Beasley meanwhile is a goofball and a dopehead (or so I heard).
I wouldn't trade Bargnani for a mid-first. I also wouldn't trade Bargnani for Beasley, or give a mid-first for Beasley. Let me ask you, would you trade DeRozan for Beasley?

We can't trade up since this would all be occurring after the draft. Beasley, at worst, would be a very good PF backup for us. If we couldn't flip him for Thabeet straight up (I think we could), we could certainly get more than the #12 for him, so it would be a bad utilization of the asset. If they wouldn't do that trade, I would try to expand it to a Mayo-Thabeet trade sending them whatever assets are needed to make it work (Jack, #13, DD or Weems+Beli, etc), or worst case, make it #12+#25+#28 for Beasley. If we're taking on Jones as well, I'd want Miami's 2010 draftee.

I am not a Beasley fan, nor am I sold on Derozan potential. I don't see how he would fit here after Bosh leaves.

Then I don't understand that you're surprised people prefer #12 over Beasley. #12 is an unproven rookie like DeRozan, and apparently you don't take Beasley over DeRozan without blinking. #12 can be better than DeRozan for sure. Uncertain but entirely possible.

Beas or no.12?
Beas easily, he still has value in the league.
he may not fit in Toronto, but it would be fun letting him and Bargs go wild on the offensive end.
Obviously we'd be poor defensively, but fun with a run and gun coach like D'Antoni.
JJ
DD or Weems
Hedo
Beasley or Amir (Beas as first off the bench isnt so bad either)
Bargs

Re: Chris Bosh Sign and Trade Ideas
I still think Chicago is the most likely destination. Big market, star gaurd and can still be 1a or 1b option on offense playing pick and roll with rose while Noah does the dirty work on the defensive end...
Henrich Gibson and pick for bosh...
Henrich perfect pg to play with turk and bargani. Doesn't need the ball in his hands shoots threes and is very good defensively.
Gibson is very solid pf. Put up very respectable numbers as a rookie, between him and Amir pf spot could look pretty decent.
Draft pick could be used or traded... just one more asset to use to build a team with

What I am saying is that I would prefer Beasley over the pick at 12. Pics are hit and miss, and with the scouting that the Raptors have, it has been a miss for a long time. I would bet my last dollar that if the Pistons do not draft Darko, the Raptors grab him in a heart beat.
Michael Bradley had potential when the Raps drafted him, but there was both Brendan Haywood and Zach Randolph available. With Haywood being a Center and from North Carolina, I thought for sure the Raptors would take him at 17, but they went with Bradley. The Raptors, like the Leafs have the biggest issue with picks, which is why I place so little value on them. If I can take Beasley or a 12th pick with the Raptors scouts, I take Beasley every day of the week.

Re: Chris Bosh Sign and Trade Ideas
I think if Utah takes care of Denver, they might be a team that makes sense.
Bosh + Melo & Chauncey would have to be appealing to them, and I think would be worth at least Nene + Afflalo + pick. They could then try to S&T KMart for another player, since Bosh is a clear improvement at the 4.
If BC is dead set on going forward with Bargs as an offensive option, then Nene is exactly the kind of guy that would fit in the frontcourt with him.

Re: Chris Bosh Sign and Trade Ideas
Denver isn't giving up their starting 5 for an upgrade at the 4 in Bosh (especially still having to deal with moving KMart, and the tax implications). Besides, Nene, while being a good defender, isn't a particularly strong rebounder (believe it or not, he only averages 1 more rebound than Bargs). Nene is also 28 I believe. I'd rather root for LA to lose, making the possibility of a Bynum-Bosh swap possible. This way we get a younger 22 year-old guy that is a true C, and has demonstrated earlier on this year that he can put up similar numbers to Bosh.

Re: Chris Bosh Sign and Trade Ideas
Is LA with Bosh better than LA with Bynum? I am not so shure. I would love to turn Bosh S&T into Bynum. It sets our front court up for the foreseable future.

Where do Bynum and Gasol play? both under the net? is Gasol in the paint more?
Bosh and Gasol could be like Bosh and JO unless Gasol plays under the net and if so I think that makes the Lakers a better team

Gasol is the more versatile one, so he can operate up to the midrange area, but I find both tend to end up parked by the net, which is why Bynum's numbers suffer so much when playing with Gasol, because of that redundancy. This is also why I think a Bosh-Gasol frontcourt could be scary good (and also why either Gasol or Bynum would work effectively with Bargs. Gasol would end up being more of a 'win-now' guy, with Bynum being a beast who could help us develop into a good team in the future. I see better defensive potential with Bargs-Bynum, and better offensive potential (along with adequate defense) with Bargs-Gasol)

I think Gasol/Bosh could be really good together and not that Kobe is getting old but they should be focused on winning now and IMO Bosh over Bynum makes them a better team now. So would Jose
