MKG over BArnes?? Goodness

Barnes doesn't take it to the basket hard enough.

A pure shooting small Forward with size and length VS a slasher which can be found all over the NCAA and NBA.

We have a bigger MKG clone on our team already

Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

I see what he is saying though, even on his penetrations Barnes is extremely under control (or tries to stay under control at all times)

That's just his game, staying on control.

As smooth as it gets!

Nah bro, Barnes doesn't like penetrate. He likes to stay at the three point line and shoot jumpshots.

Wouldnt you want your pure shooting SF to do that though?

I like watching players stroke it from deep, but I like hard penetration better.

Someone mentioned it earlier; when in doubt. Go for the shooter  and say no to MKG

I'm starting to think its Barnes or bust for us in this up coming draft. I'm willing to trade out of the draft as high as 3 if barnes is gone #2. I can't even think of a reasonable trade tho. I'd target S.curry but I think the list stops there and falls short with Rondo... Maybe Eric gordon and move demar to SF. Are we really gonna take Andre drummond / sullinger / MKG / Lamb at #3 tho??? Lamb at 3 makes sense if Barnes is off the board but again we'd be moving demar to SF.

I think lamb can play the 1 for stretches but does he have full time point guard potential. Lin seems to be getting away with it

Beal looks to be about 6" 4.5 to me. Jimmy Dykes was saying during a previous game that Beal has grown an inch since November.

I like both guys but I don't think I could take MKG over Barnes. Casey could probably get Barnes to play top level D (he is a decent defender already and has the body/length/size you want at the SF spot) but I don't see how he could help MKG get Barnes' jumper / offensive repetoire.

Barnes' jumper pushes him over the top. That jumper alone could make him a very high end offensive player.

Aside from the lottery pick, Kabongo with a late first round draft pick would be a brilliant move. Everybody is sleeping on Kabongo because Texas has been so bad this year. It shouldn't be so hard to pull off.

No you cannot; hopefully for him he follows the same "diet"(cough) as Wade to double his body size

Dude, he's not skinny. He's not small for his position. He's listed at 228. Last night the broadcasters were saying he weighed 235. If he's skinny. Then most of the wings in the league are anorexic, because that's exceptional size. If you don't want to go by listings (where he's heavier than Barnes as I've pointing out), go by your eyes. If he getting pushed around? No! Is he rebounding in traffic? Yes! Is he scoring in the paint? Yes! He's really strong for an 18 year old. If you want to call him wiry, fine. Kevin Garnett is wiry. I'll take that over muscle definition any day (which I think is probably what you're looking at). Knock his jump shot all you want, but his size is great. Andre Iguodala, generally considered one of the best wing defenders in the game, is listed at 6'6 and 217 pounds.

You do see on court out there, dont you?
Being 228 doesnt mean that he is a big and physical kid when body fat comes into play.

Wade is 220;and who has the bigger and stronger body between the two?
