you are so clueless. That is exactly what I suggested with yours so you called me pretentious and uninformed. Someone else posts the exact same thing I said and you say it's a solid colour scheme.

lol, you're upset because i didn't accept your opinion… sorry i must've skimmed through it because i couldn't take your pretentiousness seriously… if i had noticed it, or you had posted your idea as an image i probably would have noticed it and also acknowledged it as a solid colour scheme… btw, more than a single idea or single colour scheme can be aesthetically pleasing… not sure if you're aware of that. you sound super butthurt about not being accepted though… like i said, it's hard to please the masses when all they care about is their own uninformed opinion… i think the logo looks nice. some people don't… does it mean it's not nice from an aesthetic and design perspective? no... nor does it discredit the efforts of the design and marketing team… if it was **** aesthetically i would've pointed it out… just like i pointed out what i though were nice looking colour schemes…

lmfao you're so pretentious and smug you don't even read what the person who is disagreeing with you is saying. This backpedalling and use of "butthurt" is making yourself look even more dumb btw.

last i checked your first reply to my post was "it doesn't take a genius to see it isn't aesthetically pleasing." and i'm the pretentious one? please… i'm not the one **** on a logo, all the while having no idea what i would actually do to make it better… like i said, art and design are subjective… i said i think it looks nice… it's also possible and entirely acceptable to think it looks like ****… but my point is that, from a design perspective, it actually looks good… and that's why these people are paid to do what they do… sorry but fancy rainbows and cool colours aren't for team logos… if we wanted pop art and tacky retro colour ways, why not just go back to the purple and red dinosaur? you're the one who called everyone that thought it looked good, idiots… and you expect me to take you seriously?

if YOU wanna attack people's tastes in design, at least have some credentials… but the best you could come up with was attacking the people who like it… when in reality, art is subjective… picasso's work is worth millions… it looks weird as ****… jackson pollack splattered **** on canvas and is considered a genius… you think it looks like ****? fine… don't tell me my opinion is stupid and i'm an idiot because i don't. like i said, i'd wear that logo on a fitted and be happy with it…

Are they? I think purple is great on nostalgia night....but red is where it's at.

Obviously people are going to hate it and run with it, give it a few months, or perhaps years. We aren't used to change.

The logo/colours are great.

It will take some getting used to but I like it. It'll be interesting to see what the jerseys look like.

Something to consider....here a few thoughts....

"this new logo looks like it was made in a rudimentary graphics application on a Franklin by your son’s or daughter’s middle school history teacher for a field trip."

"Nothing about this execution could be called good or professional. "

"This is really really sad."

"I'm thoroughly disappointed by this "rebrand""

"I can appreciate what the designers were tying to do, but sadly, they failed miserably."

"The epitome of missed opportunity."

and so on.

So....do you think we are talking about the Raptors?

Nope.

This is a piece written in 2010 about the new logo of the Golden State Warriors.

That logo is now considered one of the best...or at least better...logos in the league.

What's wrong with our current unis that are so neutral they don't put off anyone? This new logo is just plain ugly, and obviously the majority thinks so. They're ruining a good thing (i.e. the existing claw logo, which is awesome).

They're making the same mistake the Jays made years ago by introducing the toothpaste logo. It only took them 10 years (and plenty of interim logos besides) to realize their mistake and revert to the original.

I highly disagree. The current trend in culture is towards minimalism. This logo/design fits in that minimalistic category. Especially considering the gold pattern isn't in the NBA at the moment, at Drake's influence on those specific colours, it will be among the most popular brands in the league.

I've personally asked a bunch of my friends (casual fans) if they like the logo, they all liked it.

The Raptors movement with the new colour scheme/brand doesnt cater to the older Realgm demogrpahic.

It's interesting that you would say it's minimalist, because I'm a huge fan of the minimalist aesthetic. That's actually why I like our current uniforms so much. They're bright and clean. I find this new logo to be messy and dark/grim; it's a big step back from the current claw logo IMO.

From a business perspective, I get it, and don't blame them. They want something modern, and sleek. Something everyone can wear on the street, even if you aren't a Raptor fan. You can't do that with purple.

They could have used a globe instead of a basketball to be different from Brooklyn's...one tilted with the North showing, having Canada disproportionally bigger than the US. Insert basketballs where Os are if you want them in there. Alternate logo could be just the words "we are not the Nets". Personally, I dislike the monochrome look. Uninspiring to me.

Double Helix wrote:Unless something has changed Doug is going to end up wrong yet again. I won't get my source in trouble but I've already shared this with some other mods. Expect...

- More silver but still red and white
- A more ferocious design which may incorporate claw mark shreds in a creative way
- A sleeved third jersey

So, no black and gold unless they're swapping out the silver for gold at Drake's (or his design team's) urging.

I shared this more than a year ago based on a conversation I had with somebody who had seen early mock-ups. I have no idea if the design we saw today is very close to what the mock back then was but the "claw mark shreds" and heavier emphasis on silver definitely were spot on. The black/gold influence definitely seems like it came from Drake and I acknowledged that his popularity and the sale of his clothing on Ebay after the first Drake Night might push more colorways, which looks to be the case.

Do you think it would be possible to do the gold version ONLY on Drake night? I'd say that's the only way gold makes it into any official plans.

you're going to all this trouble and pulling all these straws (saying I hate picasso? LOL?) just because you put your foot in your mouth and said my suggestion was dumb then on the next page saying you really liked a logo that completely encapsulated what I was suggesting.

I'm literally eating popcorn atm and giggling like a schoolgirl at how dumb you look right now.

I personally dont think that our current uniforms fit that criteria. To me the current look is boring and generic. That gold one will be unique.
