If Masai pulls this off he'll be remembered as one of the all time greats along with Jerry West, Pat Riley, Red Auerbach, and Pop/company. Given the city he's had to work in, it might even be more impressive. No basketball player in the history of sport has said "I am requesting a trade to the Toronto Raptors".

They will be saying that once the Raptors dynasty of AD/Kawhi/Giannis is in it's prime.

Agree, but there isn't much to discuss.
We have one asset.
They are butt-hurt.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!! I don't think I've ever felt more satisfied with reading anything.
to be fair the media/twitter world is so full of ****. Go watch espn and they are literally campaigning for stars to go to the lakers/knicks for their basketball ratings.

Raptors Trade: JV, Ibaka, Powell, FVV and CJ
Pelicans Trade: Anthony Davis, Mirotic and Jrue
Raptors Lineup:
AD/Mirotic/Monroe
Siakam/OG/Boucher
Kawhi/McCaw
Green/Delon
Lowry/Jrue
Hmmm....
If Masai pulled that off, the poets would write hymns and songs in his praise.

There's a tweet that Blake Griffin also wants out of Detroit. He'd be a nice piece too and is consistent, I don't like his personality though.

I like how the Knicks think they can grab any superstar just because it’s New York
If AD wanted to keep losing he would just stay in New Orleans ffs.

Can someone explain to me why the "Derrick Rose" rule doesn't apply to Raptors and Kawhi?

A nice piece for $35-38M per year for the next 3 years?

He's not on a Rose contract. Something about waiting so they had flexibility to sign LMA.

Re: OT: WOJ: Anthony Davis requests trade; no intention of resigning with Pelicans
I think raptors are in a win win situation .
Miss out on Davis, pick up jrue/mirotic.
Or get Davis.
PG play in the NBA is vital, not sure Fred would cut it or he would be the weak link.
People forget Siakam has played basketball for like 7 years only. His motor and stamina due to playing soccer is a distinct advantage.
With thag being said, that locker room seems close.
If Raptors end up keeping either Siakam or OG I say the trade is a win.
But I see Masai sell job for OG, only 21 , touted as top 10 draft pick , showing signs of explosiveness.
Does age play a factor ?
I trust Masai, not even sweating, I'm more like combination of grinch, burns from thr Simpson's.
Oh yea LBJ isn't the greatest, all this shady ****

How many championships does a core of Kawhi + AD win? I'd say at least 6.

Ooh. Literally after I asked it I found it.

He didn't count as a designated player because he signed his last contract in his 7th season. If it was his 8th or 9th it would've qualified.

Yep, and Kawhi didn't sign a "Designated Player Rookie Scale Extension". He re-signed in 2015 when he was a restricted FA for $90M/5 years (5th yr player option). In comparison, both Anthony Davis and Kyrie Iriving both signed Designated Player Rookie Scale Extensions in their final year of their rookie contracts.

I don't want blake's contract
He's an All-star but he's getting paid like a superstar...when you are making 40 million and can't get your team in the playoffs in the east...no ty

Kawhi is only in his 8th season now. He's only signed one deal after his rookie contract. Here's more info on the Rose Rule. There's various ways a player can qualify, and Kawhi meets none of those.

He'd be Kawhi's Robin. He wouldn't need to carry anything.

I don't blame him at all. Stuck with Casey, Reggie Jackson in a cold undesirable place. With a capped out roster, no guard/wing talent, and nowhere near playoff contention. It's a basketball purgatory, and Blake Griffin is Andy Dufresne.
