Re: Tank World Order
I know lots of folks have called this the perfect season for the tank but what would make it even better would be an even shorter season. With the pandemic getting worse maybe they push for an early end ot the season and then the playoffs in the bubble again.
Maybe we don't have to suffer for long. Plus move the trade deadline up to early Feb and with the way Lowry is playing he should be able to to fetch us something good. Hopefully some contenders start bidding high with a small chance of winning it all again. Hopefully norm plays better and gets us a pick as well.
End the season in March and we have the shortest tank in history plus assets, cap space and lots of time for team to heal and also Siakam to workout in the summer.

Tank is going amazing. We have not faced one truly elite team yet and we are 2-7.

Dropping to 6th is the only situation where I would truly be heartbroken. We currently have a 52 percent shot at being top 4.

Fuh fuh fuh fuh for life!
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars
Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid
There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Clutch loss, thank you Siakam!

Re: Tank World Order
Let’s say we’re half way through the year and we’re something like 9 and 35. We’re the second worst team in the league next to the Wizards. They realize they are screwed and approach the raptors for a trade surrounding our pick and filler for Bradley Beal. Do you do it? The season is essentially over in this scenario considering the record.
Call me crazy but I wouldn’t.
I want a top 5 pick in this **** ing draft and I want us to add a 19-20 year old young stud to our core. Maintain our capspace and find a way to get a competent center on this team next offseason.

Yes, but ONLY after the lottery if the pick falls out of the top 5 or 6 and we still get to keep FVV/Siakam/OG after the trade.

I wouldn’t either. If we end up with a bottom 2 record like this scenario, the pick has a good chance in becoming as good if not better than Beal while younger and on a cheaper deal. Beals good but he’s not a first option that will lead a team to a title so I wouldn’t bother

Very well said. I have similar thoughts. You beat me to this. The pandemic is projected to get a lot worse and I believe the season will end early. Both Lowry and Powell can fetch us something good. Powell will most likely opt out of his contract, so it is better to retain assets for him. Trade both guys, get back picks and another expiring contract from a contender, so our cap space will not be affected.

What's our % of being top 5?
Very top 5 heavy draft, any of Cade, Suggs, Green, Kuminga, and Mobley would be amazing. If I was to mock out how I want them it'd go
1. Cade
2. Kuminga
3. Suggs
4. Green
5. Mobley
Even ending up with 5 isn't horrible, Mobley projects as a modern day effective NBA C. Which is what our team is currently lacking

You know usually I would be against a tank but this year seems like the perfect year for it. I still want our main players to have success but I believe we just don't have the depth this year to make a serious run at it. The chance to add a top 5 talent is hard to pass up on and im on board the tank.

I think I have Suggs at 1 as of today. He looks like he'll be special, has all the tools and no weaknesses as far I can tell so far. Why do you like Cade & Kuminga more?
I'd probably rank them as of today (subject to change).
1. Suggs
2. Cade
3. Green
4. Kuminga
5. Mobley

Re: Tank World Order
I don't watch college ball until the tournament which I'm fortunate enough to work on most years.
I mostly rely on player comparisons for this type of thing. Anyone care to comment on these? They seem to be the most popular ones made during a quick google search:
Suggs = Jason Kidd
Kuminga = Pascal Siakam
Cade = Grant Hill
Mobley = Taj Gibson
Green = Kobe

Well then, Masai's draft board should look like this:
Green
Suggs
Cade
Kuminga
Mobley

I don’t know the odds of staying in the top 5 spot but I do know only the worst team in the league is guaranteed that they won’t drop below 5. We can drop to 6 or 7 if two team teams below us break into the top 3.
