I wouldn’t mind taking a chance on TJ Warren with the MLE. It’s risky because he could be a shell of his former self after his injuries but if he’s the same player, his scoring and 3-point shooting off the bench would be amazing.

TJ Warren ? I remember he was not a huge fan of Bjorkgren when he was with him in Phoenix and Indiana.

I’d rather stick with Boucher and achiuwa’s more well rounded game.

Long armed freaks are cool, but the team desperately needs a perimeter creator. I'd take a shot on Warren forsure.

Can TJ play the guard position? Because we have too many forwards already to give TJ any meaningful minutes.

Thinking about it objectively;

I suspect boucher is a goner.

achiuwa plays a similar role and deserves/needs more minutes

We also have thad young’s bird rights.

Give achiuwa 25+ minutes and Thad young 15+

That leaves bouchers 10 million-ish salary to be used on a wing creator.

Free agent crop kinda sucks though. Seems like just a bunch of delon Wright types out there….

I wouldn't mind swapping Boucher for Jalen Smith if it comes to it. I doubt Jalen will make more than Boucher, but I also don't know how it will affect the cap if Jalen gets something similar to what Birch got ($7-8M per season).

Im pretty sure our two biggest off season priorities are removing birch and replacing his spot with a legit 7 footer and finding a six man who can create a shot.

Marcus Smart just won DPOY. I wouldn't mind him as our starting PG next year if we end up trading Fred.

He plays SF I believe but his game is completely different than Boucher/Achiuwa, there’s no overlap there. We don’t have anyone with his skill set off the bench.

He’s a guy that’s capable of dropping 20 on any given night and shot like 40% from 3 his last heathy season.

FVV and Trent jr for Lillard (I'm assuming hes going to demand a trade in the offseason). Bring back boucher and thad plus get 2 guards with MLE and the 2nd round pick. That team is a top 4 seed for sure.

If I'm thinking of building the team for next season, I'd make it simple: build the 2022/23 season around Barnes and Siakam duo. Both have enough playmaking between them for the starting line-up. The next steps are more simple, then.

Let's look at our current holes:

1.) We have a real need for an actual C. Preferably, one that can also shoot and space the floor for Siakam & Barnes.
2.) Our backcourt needs to be both bigger and more athletic. Trent may have the size at his position but neither Trent or Fred are athletic players, and you see that reflected in their respective games.

We have 3 assets to work with:
1.) Our draft pick.
2.) Our MLE, which projects to be quite generous this year.
3.) Trade assets of Fred, Trent, & OG. All 3 can individually garner hefty amounts of interest.

With that, you see what you can get to fix our 2 glaring holes. I would look to shore up the C spot and then see about acquiring the cheapest available backcourt duo that are atheltic, great defenders, and can shoot very well. Exploring options that fit that demand wouldn't be easy but would be worth it.

He's not a UFA until 2026 and Boston isn't trading him. He's the heart and soul of that team.

You don't trade your best Player in the postseason (OG) on a cheap longterm contract. you build around him and barnes.
Fred, if he demands more money longterm is gone, Siakam could net us something nice too. but no superstar, first of all, raptors need talent, you don't get that much talent in the 30's of a draft. Both Fred and Pascal could net us nice assets, picks and talents to fill up our bench and needs, and progress from there, after few years we can see how barnes, OG and the others evolve. and still can trade for a star if needed with all those assets. but I like this team to be homegrown. this was not a rebuild year, it was a retool, 1/3 of the chip team is still there. we're going nowhere with them as our leaders, thats a fact. I love Fred but not as the primary playmaker and thats the problem, his ego. this summer is the best chance to trade him, but I can see Masai handing out contract after contract for players like Siakam and Fred. we should move on and go to another direction, don't want this team to be build around these 2 guys.

With Chris Paul getting up there, you think the Suns would want Freddy? I'd try a Fred for Ayton trade and see where it goes haha.

I’d do something like Fred to NY for Reddish, Rose, and their pick

TOR trades P. Siakam (33M)

MIN trades M. Beasley (14.5M, under contract for 2 years with last year a TO at 16M), P. Beverley (14M), L. Bolmaro (rookie under contract til 2025) + FRP 2022 unprotected, FRP 2023 Top 14 protected. (Naz Reid instead of Bolmaro would be cool too.)

In this scenario we have to move Trent as well, bc in my vision, Fred takes the role as the gunslinger from downtown and play the 2, Beasley takes the original Trent role as the 6thMan, shooting at a similar rate and efficiency, under contract for 2 more years with an team option that makes Trent redundant as he wants a big payday next summer. In this case a "Big" in return should be the goal.
I like Isaiah Jackson from the Pacers, but Indiana is loaded with guards with Duarte, Hield, Haliburton and Brogdon.

Unless there's a key draft pick, you don't trade Pascal for a lottery pick.
Otherwise, you trade Pascal to Warriors for Kuminga and/or Wiseman
since Kuminga has shown more romise.
