I like the trade and I've generally admired BI whenever watching him play.

I like what this will do for Scottie. The starting line-up alone, we'll have a variety of bucket getting threats at each position and we shouldn't require a whole lot of forcing things because of it. He should thrive as a facilitator.

I'm not concerned about the Pacers pick. The 2024 draft is looking pretty good and we have a bunch of draft capital ahead in the next couple already. The timeline can't be between 20-24. We need the 28 year old JP and 27 BI to be vets. There's still a lot of years ahead for them, especially with modern health tech.

Walking out of this - we have a healthy amount of wing and guard depth where players can stagger and cover for injuries. We really need to strengthen the front court, thou. Might be required to keep Slim Duck around.

Great deal. He's a baller. Because of his injuries, can he be reupped in the off season for cheap?

I He probably has a good 2-4 years left if he's healthy.

Was a fan of Olynyk but he didn't really have a material impact.

Wake up to the news that we traded another first round pick! I had a very strong feeling that Indy first was not in the long term plan. I guess when Masai was preaching patience to the fan base, he was just spewing garbage?

We conceded in giving up a 1st since we sent Olynyk the other way with his extra year. If we sent Boucher out instead, I'm sure the price would have been lowered. But we'd still have to pay the price to dump Olynyk's contract for tax reasons next year.

At least this knocks that Olynyk scenario out right away

You could have used this package to trade for Luka.

There is a ton of downside to this deal in the form of BI asking for ~$50M+ since BI camp has all the leverage (and we balk, goes south and accepts less). Or we give in and give him the big money.

I would have done the deal for a 2nd only, so I could walk away ‘easily’ from BI if the talks were not in line. NOP wanted to move him, and we blinked a bit at the end.

We pretty much HAVE to commit to BI no matter what. Giving up that 1st, and if he walks is going to be demoralizing.

I don't know what the Raptors are doing TBH. Even with BI, we're not that good. I think this winning streak is giving our fans and front office false hope. I could honestly see them flipping our 2025 1st rounder this summer and giving a lame sales pitch like 'you have to make moves to win' or 'we want to build around this core'.

BI improves this team next year (assuming he resigns) same with keeping yak. Losing Kelly and BB makes this team worst this year… we will likely see BI, RJ, and IQ sit out quite a few games. If raptors can still manage to tank we will be in good hands.

Very good hands. People thinking we’re getting anywhere close to the play in are delusional. We are about as close to the play in as we are to the Washington Wizards. We just traded away some of the vets so more gleague rookies can play, and Ingram probably won’t be back for a long time. Even when guys are relatively healthy seems like we’re sitting them.

Imagine coming back next season actually healthy with Ingram and Dylan Harper / VJ Edgecome / Jakucionis added to the team?

Yes please.

Have you been watching this season? Patience has been tested.

I don't understand how anyone could want to suffer a season like this for multiple seasons in a row. Retool, not rebuild. Can you imagine being a Hornets fan? How long has it taken for the Pistons to finally show signs of life? You'd have a hard time convincing me that the Pistons have achieved anything beyond treadmill status.

Funny how 1 year ago it was Masai is washed because he traded Siakam for such a bad return. Should have traded him earlier for Bufkin and Griffin some said.

Now he turned that bad return into a 22 point scorer, built up Ochai, and Walter for youth...plus grabbed Davion+Shead with the TPE from Siakam.

And people are still complaining that this deal is a fireable offense? Complete lunacy.

So a SL of

IQ
RJ
BI
SB
JP

RJ/BI/SB both love playing in the mid range where as JP needs to be close to the basket. Spacing is going to be a little weird. I think DIck is a better fit in the SL (movement shooter) as opposed to RJ however how do you justify bringing RJ off the bench? Will be accept that?

I wonder if there's a follow up trade coming. The rumours that we were listening to JP trades (albeit for a crazy price) makes me wonder if we are still considering moving him. Or does this BI trade solidify that we are trying to compete next year.

Guess year one of the rebuild was only 5 months haha

Jak trade prevented us from getting a high(er) lotto pick. This trade won't affect our tank this year

I would be shocked if Brown played a game for them.

Well that's why I think they do anything to move him. They can't sit him, they have to waive him then. He's a UFA and would just loudly complain.

Can't waive Olynyk with eating cap space next year.

Why? Unless ingram is out for the rest of the year, we upgraded our talent level

If ingram is out for the rest of the year, are you comfortable signing him to a massive deal this summer?

And IQ....only played 12 games and only 6 of those has played over 30 mins.

We have the ability next year to come back with a big influx of talent and that doesn't include if guys like Dick, Ochai, Walter, Mogbo, Battle, etc... get better.

I’m not mad at the exchange. Brown and Olynyk + Indiana pick… that being said wtf are we doing with Boucher if he’s still not playing? Like I legitimately don’t understand why we’re holding out our best bench player from games
