Why do you like Bryant over Maluach?

I think Bryant could be an immediate fit on our bench but Mogbo, Dick, Walter, Barnes, Ingram, Barrett, and Agbaji all need minutes at the 3 and 4.

Maluach would be an immediate fit that can be a lob threat and has a decently high floor. We could have 48 minutes of great C play for years to come. That's something we badly need on the Raptors.

Only real 3/4s on that list are Mogbo and arguably Ingram. If they think Carters floor is OG, they likely send a package of those guys for a backup C (similar to the LA/Char package).

Malauch looking like Embiid in those clips lol those predraft workout clips can be deceiving but ya id be fine if we got him esp if we don't get a top 3 pick.

What we're hearing on the Raptors: Surrounding Barnes with the right players and finding the optimal strategy for compensating for his inconsistent 3-point shooting will continue to be a front office priority, especially with Brandon Ingram in the fold.

With most of the team's core between 21 to 27 years old, it will be interesting to see what kind of offensive jump the Raptors can make next season. The team's direction with this pick -- be it a guard, wing, forward or big man -- will shed insight into how to view this existing group. -- Givony

Kon at 5?? That seems so high. I think he's got a great floor but I don't think his ceiling is worthy of a top 5 pick

Don't draft Maluach.

If we stay at 7 or fall a few spots, we need to trade down. Brooklyn has a few picks, so does ATL and OKC.

Last thing we need to do here is to swing for the fences and run the risk of coming up empty handed. I'd rather take two or three shots and come up with 1-3 quality rotation guys than gamble on Maluach and have nothing to show for it if he doesn't work out. It's not like he's looking like a healthy Oden, Gobert, Bynum or any of those guys. We should still be able to find a very serviceable C later in the draft like Condon.

That’s exactly the wrong strategy. The current team has a ton of depth and lacks high end talent. You want to endure an entire year of tanking for the #15 and #22 picks who will end up as 3rd stringers stuck behind Walter, Dick, Shead and Ochai?

This team desperately needs to swing for the fences and go for the highest possible upside to lift them out of the treadmill tier.

As much as I want cooper, I know the front office will get us a high level player. This + ingram and some more roster updates and we are a decent team next season.

until the 12th I'm going to keep telling myself we are getting Cooper haha. Because wow would that set us up for the next 10 years.

But overall I agree with your sentiment. We are in a strong position compared to some of the other lottery teams. I sense that there's a consolidation trade out there as well given our glut of guards right now

Yeah Maluach is kind of top of my list now as well even over Fears. Can convince me over Queen as well. I do think we still need a creator type talent but for now we have guys to supplement that.
2019 Eastern Conference All Stars

Derozan
Lowry
Ibaka
Valanciunas
Van Vleet
Delon Wright
Lebron
Embiid

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

Been on the Maluach bandwagon for the last month.

If anyone tries to tell you that he can't do what you are seeing him do in a real game situation because they didn't see him doing it at Duke...then you are either uninformed or willfully ignorant. You need to watch footage from BAL and the Olympics when his coaches allowed him to play more freely. He has been shooting the ball and doing more than being a rim runner and shot blocker. There is video evidence that he has a shot and can dribble in-game. His Duke experience doesn't begin to showcase what he is capable of.

The form on the shot looks very fluid. You can tell he has been practicing. As stated before...Kyle Korver has been working closely with him on the shooting. There are guys whom which the shot looks awkward or mechanical like Jaren Jackson Jr. and Jonas Valanciunas and Khaman's form at 18 years old already looks better.

With all the vitriol Malauch gets for no reason some of y’all need to stay on that side lol

He’s still not my favourite but I can’t for the life of me understand how some people can’t see the potential and completely write him off despite being the starting C who anchored Duke’s defence and the scouts almost unanimously rank in the top 10 which they didn’t for guys like Missi, Bol etc so obviously there is SOMETHING that the experts see in him. Of course so much of getting the most outta his potential is gonna be determined by WHERE he lands and it goes without saying if there’s any place that will have a great (actually likely THE best) chance to develop him to that point is here.

I’ll be perfectly happy with any of Queen, Fears, Maluach and Bryant still feels a bit like a honourable mention/good fallback. But I think we can develop each of those 3 to all-stars with the first 2 being more likely.

I kept saying all season that his stock would rise again during the combine when teams will be reminded that he can actually shoot.
