Yep. 75% of his shots were under the rim and he hit less than 2/3's. That's against college competition. He'll be facing bigger and more athletic defenders. His jumper and FT need a huge improvement.
While he's being touted as a defensive guy, some of the knocks on him are that his lateral movement is sub par and he lacks quickness and vertical explosiveness. He's not considered a great athlete, which is subjective given the pool of comparisons (all NBA players are better athletes than 99% of the world), but that's what he'll be up against every game so the comparison must be made.

I hate Duke pretty much more than any other team in college basketball, but I was all in on Maluach for quite some time. I think passing on him will come back to haunt them.
You've never seen CMB play bro. Its alright to not like the pick, but I really do suggest watch some footage. This wasn't a guy backing down smaller players and dunking on them, or him being spoonfed buckets by his guards... he was creating his own offense. This was a guy who used his IQ, size, strength, ball handling, and athleticism to create his shot, or draw a foul. He was legitimately the only efficient player on his team. To say he didn't create his own shot is honestly ignorant.
The same people slamming the pick today where slamming the Scottie pick saying we picked a guy averaging 10/4/4, who came off the bench.
