He's the most promising draft pick since Chris Bosh in my opinion, there's no way I'd ship him out at this point. I'd rather ship out Derozan.

I don't know, its hard to determine if anyone from this draft will become a superstar. You look at Blake Griffin and you feel confident before the draft that he'll be #1. Right now, I don't feel anyone in the draft is a game changer. If we're certain that the first overall pick is a superstar, then I'd do it in a heartbeat. IMO, I'd stick with keeping Davis, since we already have a high draft pick, just grab the best possible pick when its our turn to draft.. and then we'll build around Derozan, Davis, and draft picks. Easier said then done.

If you're asking us that a deal is in place with another bottom feeder that is willing to trade their pick for your proposed package, easily no. I don't know what our record looks like but from other posts I've seen we have the fifth worst record in the league. Who knows, we could luck out and get a top 3 pick, maybe even the first overall pick. And then you're also giving up Miami's pick AND a promising young PF who looks like he can be solid.

If the scenario is that we have the fifth to eighth pick and we're for sure getting the first overall pick, I'm still leaning towards no but I'd have to think about it a bit longer. This draft doesn't look that strong to me and we're not even sure who's going to commit with the lockout next season, and I can't believe I share the same exact opinion as Palmer, but the one guy that I think looked the most promising, Perry Jones, isn't really looking as promising as I expected.

But BC will want to keep bargnani.

Bargnani can't stay at C, he has to be moved to PF to cover for his defensive lapse.

So we can't keep both of these guys...

As much as I'm liking davis i think it would be wise to maybe package him with our first and maybe even miami's first to ensure we get a first overall?

anyone else think that makes sense?

I get that fans are into prospect porn and are always drooling over prospects, but Ed Davis + a top 5 pick (looking likely) + another late first round pick is not worth the 1st overall pick. There arent any franchise changing stars in this draft so it isnt worth it.

I have to agree.
We are getting a pretty good ways into the NCAA season and no one has step forward as a consensus number one.

This draft looks a lot like 2006 with some talent at the frontend but most scouts having little idea how to rank it.

I would sooner keep Davis and our pick and simply grab the best player on the board.

I'm not giving ed davis and our pick to move up, no!!!! I'd move ed davis and the miami pick to move up. Or Ed davis + our pick for asset + a pick thats higher than ours.

what about this. Got it from the trade board.

To Toronto: James Posey + IND 2011 1st (top 10 protected)
To Indiana: Leandro Barbosa + Joey Dorsey + MIA 2011 1st (27-30)

we move up in the draft with INDs pick, they get better in order to make the playoffs and Dorsey helps them. Posey also helps our SF issues.

Its an interesting idea;
But I don't know if Indiana wants to make the playoffs and be blow to pieces in the first round, or they would simply rather another young piece in the draft?

Raps Send:

Kleiza, Barbosa, Wright

Utah sends:

AK-47

works on trade machine.

I also think Utah is missing a player like Kleiza.

I doubt Utah wants to take on more salary with Kirilenko's expiring. But if they're ok with it, I'd love to do this deal, it opens up 12mil in capspace for us. We could potentially target two of Young/Chandler/Green+Gasol/DeAndre/Nene/Perkins to significantly improve at SF/C.

We also have the option of re-signign Kirilenko for less money. The fact is that a guy who averaged 12pts a few rebounds etc over his career is not worth $17m on the open market and he knows that, Utah knows that so we could basically re-sign him for cheap and have the ability to sign some of our own FA's or even hit the open market and sign FA's

I just want to see us get use the TPE for a wing player.

It's crazy that we talked and talked and talked about it all summer and now it's apparent that we're just going to let it go for nothing.

2 options but this is what i want

1. - Dump Barbosa for expiring
- Draft Perry Jones/Terrence Jones/Harrison Barnes (because Irving isnt there)
- Draft player x with MIA pick (ideally a 3 point shooter)
- Sign Marc Gasol to a MAX offer sheet. (have to overpay to get him and a max offer makes Memphis think), if not move towards a cheaper Jordan, Oden, Perkins, Dalembert, Chandler, Nene

Jose Calderon / Jerryd Bayless
Demar Derozan / Sonny Weems (re-signed)
Perry Jones / Linas Klezia
Andrea Bargnani / Ed Davis
Marc Gasol / Amir Johnson / Solomon Alabi

+ MIA pick (likely a 2/3 that can shoot the 3)

+ minimum players filling out the roster

2) - Dump Barbosa for expiring (must for both deals)
- Irving is there when we pick
- Draft Kyrie Irving
- Trade Calderon for a Center (maybe SAC does a S&T of Dalembert for Calderon since they would miss out on Irving and would look to fill the PG hole another way)
- Draft player x with MIA pick (ideally a 3 point shooter)
- Sign Jeff Green to 10.5 million with annual increases (forces thunder not to match)
- Thunder decide to take the remainder of Torontos TE and S&Ts Green to Toronto where Green gets more money (10% raises vs 8%) and Toronto keeps player rights

Kyrie Irving / Jerryd Bayless
Demar Derozan / Sonny Weems (re-signed)
Jeff Green / Linas Klezia
Andrea Bargnani / Ed Davis
Samuel Dalembert / Amir Johnson / Solomon Alabi

+ MIA pick likely a 2/3 that can shoot the 3

+ minimum players (backup PG, another minmum center)

both teams make the playoffs next year and both teams have a bright future.

this is my slight dream... :)

To Toronto: Mayo + Thabeet
To Memphis: Barbosa + Bayless + Dorsey + Miami 2011 1st Round Pick

Memphis gets a nice backup PG and SG to round out the roster. Also add a 1st round pick.

Calderon / Gaines / PG (Evans/Ajinca trade for a PG)
Mayo / Weems / Johnson
Derozan / Klezia / Wright
Johnson / Davis / Ajinca/Evans
Bargnani / Thabeet / Alabi

I duno... I would rather have Jordan opposed to Gasol... he's 3 years younger and already looks like he's a better player, especially on the defensive end... I'd over pay for him - it's hard to come by big athletic young C's who are already good, and have a world of untapped potential to add to it. Dude's a highlight dunk/block waiting to happen... he can be a defensive force.
