How should the team move forward this season?

Go for ping pong balls to draft a star potential prospect adding to our core.

As a tWo member obviously I am being optimistic here. Unfortunately I could see the Blazers and Utah games being wins potentially. But hoping for the best.

No Booker for the Suns game so very likely a win. A win in Portland also possible, but I think Utah is tougher to beat than Portland. Could easily go 4-4, which basically means we been 0.500 for the entire month (Jan 6 - Feb 8) leading upto the trade deadline.

Del we could go 2=6 and what difference would it make? We gonna trade both Siakam and OG for scraps? Go full rebiuld/retool. Get your head out of your assets (draft related) and face reality here.

I think Nick Smith Jr. is a sleeper option for us if we don't land someone like Brandon Miller. He'll likely be a fantastic combo guard and we could use that.

Nunn is ass. Wizards may have chosen their direction.

Not sure if they really chose their direction with this. I just think they didn't want to re-sign Hachimura and wanted to get the best offer they could. He wasn't really impacting their team much when he was on the court.

He is better than Nunn at least and is capable of putting up points every once in awhile. This makes them worse imo, even if slight.

This team retooling just to barely make the play-in is my nightmare.

yeah, can't shake my bad feeling about where this team is headed. feels like the MLSE of old that's more concerned with playoff appearances than the bigger picture down the road.

i'm sure we'll hear about how injuries derailed the season and that they believe in this core/incremental improvement. a healthy otto will be like a whole new signing next year! blah blah blah. it's so transparently obvious.

best way to ensure long-term job security is to delay making any real tough decisions for as long as possible.

It very unfortunately sounds like that's EXACTLY the plan & then blame this poor season on injuries. Next season sell the fans that we're supposedly "juuuust on the cusp" but we supposedly fixed our C problem with one that only further hurts our shooting but hey he's Pascal's bff Yak so they'll sell the fans on fuzzy, warm feelings hey look how they love each other. And that all management has to do is a magical trade for a superstar that somehow has no basis in reality with how much we'd need to gut the team just to get another star but people will buy that it can happen based on the "organic growth" of Scottie, Precious, CK & whatever mid-ass pick we get this year. Just watch...

We're in a similar position we were two years ago and ended up resting players to tank. Masai doesn't need job security. If he was available, every team would line up to get him in their organization.

How about you all relax?

Look at the Blue Jays. When Rogers tried to squeeze the Donaldson core by 2 years too many, just to sell some tickets, it ended with 2 bad losing years. Our FO isnt stupid, letting MLSE dictate and prolong the inevitable.

But yet the only rumours we're involved in are ones to UPGRADE the roster...

anyways Fred is on fire now.

not going to be surprised this team going to click on all cylinders 2nd half of the season. this has been my worry (want that high draft pick in this year to grow with Scottie) and my hope (that they are good)

Scottie Barnes also coming around as well.

i think you can kiss the tank goodbye barring any trades.

I wonder in this scenario if we offered the Blazers Siakam and OG, to pair with Lillard and Simons would they be open to moving that second pick to us? Would be wild. Wemby, Scoot, Scottie!? :D

Yeah that’s what I think happens too.
